“Never be sorry for crying love, if you ever need to talk my ears are always open.” Niall said softly, tucking a strand of my hair out of my face. My face slowly felt hot as a blush crept onto it. Out of the corner of my eye I saw him give me a smile.
“Go get the others please.” I half smiled back. If I am going to be with them for a while they ought to know what’s been going on in my past. He merely nodded before slipping off the side of the bed and walking to get the others.
Not even a minute later Louis was by my side giving me a sad smile. I laughed at how childish and crazy he is. That laugh seemed to make him feel better because he gave me a smile that reached his eyes. Niall sat down on my other side and I saw that the three other boys were sitting in front of me.
Harry’s gaze caught mine, his green eyes were guilty looking; seeing as how he was the one who asked the question. I could tell that he really wished he could take it back and that he wished he never asked me the question. Truthfully I guess you could say I was okay that he asked because I can grow closer to the boys once I explain my reasoning.
“So I think I should explain why I acted like I did.” I could see two of the boys start to cut me off, so I just shook my head and continued.
“No, if I am going to be here with you guys then you need to know my past.” I took a deep breath before the imagine started in the back of my mind.
“When I was a freshman, I had this thing for Luke. Star quarterback on the high school football team. He was every girl’s dream the only problem was Clara; his girlfriend. Skip the boring months of me stalking him and we come to Prom. I, at first, was going to go alone but was asked by Luke. Me being the sixteen year old dumbass I was said yes. On the night of the dance he showed up to my house but there was a problem, he had Clara with him. I actually think I opened the door to them making out on my porch. When they quit sucking each other’s faces off Clara laughed at me and told me it was all a joke. Luke never wanted to go with me, I was just being played and ever since then she’s made my life a living hell. I think that’s why she failed two years was she could bully me.”
Holy crow that was a lot to let these guys know, what if they think I’m weird?
They’ve already seen me cut, so it shouldn’t be a big deal.
“And what’s his last name?” Zayn asked from in front of me.
I actually had to think about it because when I was a freshman he was a senior.
“Leary, I think.” I sorted through my brain trying to remember.
“Yeah it’s Leary, why?” I asked. Not really sure I wanted to know the answer.
Zayn didn’t answer me, which scared me a little but I shook it off. It’s hard to tell where he is by now that was four years ago.
I turned to Niall seeing as he was bumping my shoulder. When I met his eyes he motioned towards the guitar. I tensed up a little. Does he want me to sing the song to them? Not going to happen there pretty boy. That changed the moment I thought it because he gave me the puppy dog eyes.
Must say no. Oh gawd, is he trying to kill me now? Is he act-.
“Get me the guitar.” I pointed towards it. Liam started to get up but instead I made Niall get it. He wants me to sing he can get up and exert a little energy.
Niall handed me his guitar and before I started playing I gave them a little insight to the song.
“I wrote this song the night of Prom and basically it’s about them.”
“Small town homecoming queen
She's the star in this scene
There's no way to deny she's lovely
Perfect skin, perfect hair
Perfumed hearts everywhere
Tell myself that inside she's ugly
Maybe I'm just jealous
I can't help but hate her
Secretly I wonder if my boyfriend wants to date her
She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
She gets the top bunk I'm sleeping on the floor
She's Miss America and I'm just the girl next door
Senior class president
She must be heaven sent
She was never the last one standing
A backseat debutante
Everything that you want
Never too harsh or too demanding
Maybe I'll admit it I'm a little bitter
Everybody loves her but I just wanna hit her
Oh and I'm just the girl next door
I don't know why I'm feeling sorry for myself
I spend all my time wishing that I was someone else
She is the prom queen I'm in the marching band
She is a cheerleader I'm sitting in the stands
I get a little bit, she gets a little more
She's Miss America and... she's Miss America
I'm just the girl next door...”
