-Niall

I smiled as we all finished our performance final performance in the United States. It was a bittersweet night for all of us. Even though it’s our last night performing our tour we still have the Teen Choice Awards to open for next week.

Since we can’t really leave until after that performance we are going to rent a beach house for the week and just chill here until then. I didn’t mind but as for Natalie she just isn’t around anymore. Not that she left just more her personality isn’t there anymore.

Every time someone ask her a question she just shrugs her shoulders or shakes her head. There are some days that she’s happy and has a smile on her face but those days are very limited. Louis and I tried to figure it out but we haven’t found out why but we’ve not given up hope.

“Niall are you ready to go?” Paul asked as he came into my dressing room. I nodded my head. I had my phone and other things already in the car and waiting so I was good to go.

“Yeah.”

I followed him out the door and waited as he gathered everyone else up from their rooms. When all five of us were in the van I finally noticed Natalie wasn’t in with us.

“Hey Paul, where’s Natalie?” I subconsciously asked. Louis, who was in a conversation with Zayn, turned to listen to his answer.

Paul turned in the passenger’s seat and addressed us all at the same moment. “She’s already at the beach house.” He paused for a moment and then sighed. “She told me something when I was walking her to the van. I probably shouldn’t tell you guys but she’s not been herself and well she said that’s she’s really homesick and wants to go back home.”

I could definitely get the homesick part but going home was just a shock. Why would she want to go back to the place that made her the way she is now? It’s just not making sense anymore.

Once we got to the beach house all of the boys went and claimed a room while I went looking for Natalie. I was pretty sure she would be in the house somewhere but was shocked when I found her sitting on the beach with a girl; talking.

She looked like she was actually enjoying herself while talking to her. It was definitely different than the girl who has been staying with us; the one who has been quiet and very distant towards us.

“Natalie?” I asked, interrupting them on some odd topic.  I watched as her friends face went pale as if she’d saw a ghost or gotten sick..

“Yeah Niall.” Natalie answered while not looking at me. She kept contact with the girls eyes the whole time

“I just wanted to talk to you but I see you are with someone so I guess I will ask you later when you’re free?” I was kind of sad that I couldn’t really talk to her to find out why she wanted to leave but I was also happy she was talking to someone.  “No it’s okay. I should probably go before my friends have to put up a missing persons report.” Her friend got up, after she gave Natalie a small hug, and smiled at me before walking up the path beside the one I came down.

I watched her for a second before I went and sat beside Natalie; already mentally figuring out what I was going to say to her.

“What’s up Niall?” Natalie spoke after a few minutes of the awkward tension.  I shook my head a little then turned to look at her. I honestly didn’t know how this could turn out and that truly scared me.

“Why Natalie?” I asked. She scrunched her face up and thought for a moment.

“Why what?” she asked as she had no clue what I was talking about.

“Why in the hell do you want to go back home?” I asked in a bitter tone.

I watched as her face fell. “Honestly, it’s not that I want to go home it’s that I’m tired of being here.” She moved her head away from me so I couldn’t see here face. “You don’t want to be with me?” I asked before my mouth could stop me.

She shook her head softly making my heart break a little. “Niall, I don’t want to be here on this earth anymore.” She spoke much louder.

My jaw dropped a little. She doesn’t want to be alive anymore, how come. I thought that she actually liked it here with us and she was coming out of her shell that she was once in.

“What do you mean on this Earth? Nat, what happened that you feel this way again? I thought that you were starting to come out of your shell and were changing.” I asked her. She shook her head and it almost seemed like she wanted to laugh at the situation.

“Niall, I love you and the others and everything you’ve done for me but sometimes being with you all has the down side. You may not see everything that people say or do or you try and hide it from me but I see it and hear it. Words hurt and I never thought that I would be I a situation like that.” With her words I finally understood what she was meaning and who was making her go back to her old self but by the time I had actually put the pieces together she got up and went back to the house, leaving me to my thoughts.
