-Niall

I could get where he was coming from. People have been in and out of her life, bringing her down. He’s just making sure that she’s going to be fine. That’s why I couldn’t lie. I don’t know who it would hurt more and besides lying would only complicate the problem not help make it better. No matter if I lied the truth would come out eventually.

“Jake, I do like her. When you told Louis that he should go check on her I was extremely jealous which is weird because I have only known her for a few short days.” My voice sounded much more confident; the irishness coming out hot and heavy as I thought back a few minutes before when I got jealous.

I loved the fact that she wasn’t what society says girls should look like, she had curves and wasn’t a stick. She was bigger and I loved every part of her.

“Niall….” His voice faltered a bit.

It wasn’t that he was upset, even though he still kind of was, it was because he didn’t know how to explain what he was going to say. I think I kind of had an idea as to what he wanted to say.

“Jake, I honestly don’ think I could bring her into this mess of fans, paparazzi, the media, and the hate. They wou-.” He cut me off.

“You don’t get it do you? All of those things are irrelevant. Yes, they will still be there but even if you don’t want to bring her into this mess she is already there. But that’s not the point; the point is that I don’t care if you don’t want to be selfish. I can tell my sister likes you, even if she doesn’t want to share it; she does. That’s why I want you to be together, you can help her through so much more than I could ever think of doing.” For the first time I was speechless.

I don’t get why he was sitting here telling me that I could date his older sister when he was just telling me that he didn’t want me to try anything with her. His mind changed pretty fast but that was something to me.

I nodded my head numbly to give him some sort of answer.

He didn’t give me another word, just walked out of the room. I didn’t ask where he was going because it wasn’t any of my business.

Louis walked down the steps shortly after our conversation ended. His facial expression looked somewhat saddened. Like he was keeping something from us and only expressing it when he’s alone.

“Louis, what’s wrong?” I asked warily, not knowing if he would give me and answer.

His eyes looked distant as he replied with a simple shrug. That’s when I knew something was off with him. He’s usually so full of energy and smiling.

“Louis we’ve been singing together for a while now, I think I can tell when there is something wrong. You don’t have to tell me but usually if you talk about it, it usually makes you feel better.” He shook his head slowly and I think I saw some tears slip.

Instinctively, I got off the couch and wrapped him in one of my famous hugs; knowing he needed it. He slipped his arms me and nested his face in my neck. I felt the warm tears that he was trying to hide. This was a side of Louis that most people never witness; he’s usually his funny, witty, and sassy self.

“Louis, mate, what’s wrong?” He pulled away and began to wipe his tears away.

“I know I haven’t known Nat long but I feel brotherly towards her and when I went to check on her I saw her scars and just thought that she looks so broken. I really want to bring life back into her life.”

I knew what he meant. Natalie needs to find her life. She’s been stuck in this place where everyone is bringing her down now she needs to be brought back up.
