If we were going to spy on Peyton and Zack, we were going to have to do it right.

Honestly, we went a little overboard because now we were all wearing only black. I was wearing my black skinny jeans and my baggy black sweater. Jessie wore black sweats and a black t-shirt with the words ‘Hot Mess’ in sparkly red on the front. Mason went completely all out, wearing black boots, gloves, jeans, sweater and tuque. He even took a magic marker and put two lines under his eyes, which Jessie and I did too once we realized how cool it looked.

We asked Jonah if we could borrow his car since it was black. He was confused but he threw Mason the keys. “Don’t hurt my baby!”He called out as we walked out the door.

We all piled into the car and drove towards the park. Peyton had left fifteen minutes ago so our timing should be perfect.

“This is going to be epic,” Jessie said as she pulled a pair of binoculars from her pocket. “Good call on these Lucy, we may need them.”

I nodded my head and then looked outside the window. There was a little boy in the car next to us who was staring at us with wide eyes. I waved at him and he slid down in his seat, probably scared.

I laughed and then I sat back down in my own seat. We talked about how fun our little outing would be. And then… we arrived at our destination.

I was about to open my door, when Mason grabbed my wrist. “What do you think you’re doing?!” He asked me.

“Opening a door. Duh,” I replied.

He shook his head in disgust. “Do you want Peyton to see us?! This is more of a stakeout guys. We’re going to watch from the car.”

I nodded my head and took a seat. We then looked around the park through the windows a little bit until we found Peyton. We found her sitting at the fountain in the short pink mini dress that she had changed into at the apartment. Sitting next to her laughing was a man, probably in his mid-twenties. He was quite good looking with his dark brown hair and big happy blue eyes. He had scruff on his chin and a big smile that never seemed to leave. This man must’ve been Zack.

“Wow,” Jessie whispered as she looked at his through her binoculars. “Good job Peyton!”

Mason slapped the binoculars from her hands and shook his head. “You do realize we’re here for Drew right? If he found out about Peyton being with someone besides him, he’d freak.”

I laid my head on Mason’s shoulder and admitted, “They really would be cute together.”

Jessie then laid her head on my own shoulder. “Out of our group of friends, who do you think would be the best couple?”

I thought for a second. “I still think it would be Peyton and Drew. They’re personalities balance each other out, you know?”

Mason nodded his head, agreeing as he eyed the couple.

“Really, you think Drew and Peyton would be the cutest together?” Jessie wondered. “I always thought Jonah and Mason would make a great couple.”

Mason glared at her and I held in a laugh. I then choked when I saw what was going on at the water fountain. “Guys!” I yelled, both of their heads turned to face me. “Look!” I pointed at Peyton and Zack.

He was tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear and she was leaning in. “Oh no,” Jessie muttered.

“We have to stop them!” Mason said, struggling to unbuckle his seatbelt. I reached over and did it for him.
