This chapter is dedicated to one of my favorite writers, Fallenbabybubu. She's amazing and I love her writing! She's such a great person to get to know :) If you haven't checked out her stories, you really should. You won't regret it :)
I would make an excellent ninja or spy. I was sneaky and I could keep a secret. And this is why Jonah and I were able to be boyfriend and girlfriend without any of our friends finding out. We didn’t want them to freak out over the fact that Jonah and I were together. They did when they found out about Mason and Jessie, who were going strong, and some of my friends didn’t even know about Drew loving Peyton.
At the moment, all of us were sitting by or on the couch, our eyes glued to the TV. We had been spending our whole day like this. I was enjoying it since I was sitting right next to Jonah, my head nuzzled into his shoulder.
Just then, I felt a vibration in my pocket. I put my hand in the pocket of my skinny jeans; I took out my pink phone and flipped it open. I pressed it to my ear, all of my friend’s eyes on me. “Hello?” I said.
“Lucy?” I heard a familiar voice, yet I couldn’t quite make out who it was by the bad quality.
“That’s me,” I responded.
“Open your door,” The caller ordered.
I slowly got up from the couch, everybody’s eyes still on me. I turned the knob of the front door, revealing a tall man with a huge smile on his face. His calming deep hazel eyes were sparkling.
“Lucas!” I exclaimed, dropping my phone to the ground just so I could wrap my arms around my older brother. “What are you doing here?!”
He poked my nose. “I came to see my little sister!”
I took a look at my twenty-five year old brother, Lucas, his scruffy dark brown hair seemed as if it got scruffier from the last time I saw him. He wasn’t much taller than me, only a few inches, however he was much more muscular.
I invited him into the apartment. Right as he took one step in, Skipper darted into the room, dug his teeth into my brothers pants and growled. I was yelling at him to stop while Lucas just laughed, he had always been a dog person.
He tapped the dog on the head and let him sniff his hand. Skipper then got that same innocent look in his eyes again as Lucas picked him up. “Who’s this little guy?”
“This is Skipper,” I told him. I put a hand on my brothers shoulder. “Lucas, you remember my friends, right?”
He put the dog down and nodded his head. “Of course!” He crossed his arms and made his thinking face. “Let’s see if I remember…”
He made his way towards them and then named each one of them, not stumbling on any of their names. However, when it came to Jonah, he snarled when he said his name. Lucas and Jonah had always had a huge rivalry ever since the day where Lucas saw Jonah’s hands barely brush over mine in the eighth grade.
Lucas had always been protective of me, sometimes a little to protective. If he found out that I was dating his enemy, Jonah’s neck would be snapped before you could count to three.
My brother looked around the apartment. “Wow, you guys did pretty well for yourselves. How much did this place cost?!”
McKinley, being little miss brainy answered with a smile. “So Lucas, what brings you in town?” She wondered after she replied to him.
He grabbed my arm and held me towards him, hugging me so tightly, purposely trying to embarrass me in front of my friends. “I just came to see my little Lefty- Lucy!”
