Now we all knew the fact that Jay got married right after he got out of high school. Yet, it didn’t exactly seem as if he loved his wife so much since he went along on a date with Harlow. Yet, he was still as clueless as he was in high school because he completely forgot to take his wedding ring off.
This brought us back to the present. Harlow was sobbing over her failed date, Jared being the first to offer to comfort her and then me glaring at my brother.
I made sure that Harlow was okay. Jared had his arms wrapped around her and she was sitting on his lap, crying into his shoulder. I looked at my brother once I was sure she was in good hands. “Lucas, may I talk to you?”
He looked at me and for the first time, my older brother actually looked scared of me. “W-why?” He finally replied.
I crossed my arms over my pink sweatshirt. “Well, I think we need to talk about a few things.”
Everyone was watching us, including McKinley who had come out of the bedroom. Even Skipper was staring at us, which I had to admit, was very cute.
Lucas sighed and got up from the couch that he was sitting on. I grabbed his wrist and brought him into the girl’s room. I shut the door right as we were both in. I then raised my hand and slapped him across the face, not caring about whatever consequences came up.
“What was that for?!” He yelled.
“Why are you dating McKinley?!” I replied back, my tone of voice no lower than his own.
“Why are you dating Jonah?!” He responded. “I never gave your permission to do that!”
My jaw dropped and my eyebrows furrowed. “I’m not a baby anymore Lucas! I can be with who I want to be with!”
“But why Jonah?! Out of all the people, why him?” His fists were clenched and his eyebrows were just like mine.
“And why McKinley? One of my best friends!” I had to dig my nails into my hands to keep myself from slapping him once more or punching him right in the gut.
“Because I know that McKinley is a sweet girl and she won’t break my heart! But Jonah is a different story! He treats the girls that he dates like total crap and then just forgets about them after he throws them in the trash!” My brother was practically screaming. His face was a bright red from yelling so much.
Just then, the door swung open, revealing Jonah in the doorway. His face was red too. He made a beeline for Lucas and grabbed him by the shoulders. He shoved him, making him fall on to the ground. “Don’t ever say those things about me again!”
Lucas quickly got up, rubbing his elbow, which had broken his fall. He glared at my boyfriend and shoved him back.
Pushes, shoves and even a few punches were thrown. Now the whole group was staring at them. My eyes were wide and teary from what I was watching.
“Guys!” I cried. “Stop it!”
They didn’t pay any attention to me. They just continued hurting each other. I finally had enough. I ran right up to them, grabbed each other their shoulders and tried to keep them apart. However, Jonah just grabbed took hold of my own shoulder and shoved me to the ground, causing me to hit the wall on my way down.
Everyone was silent for a minute, their eyes wide and on me, and that was when I felt the pain. My head had hit the wall on my way down, and now it was pounding like crazy.
“Lucy!” Jonah said to me with the saddest and most sorry face. He held out his hand to me, but I shook my head, tears streaming down my face.
