“I’m so gonna beat you, Walton!” I yelled playfully as I threw another virtual punch at the TV.

“Not on my watch, Orzickson!” Mason replied as he punched my Mii.

The nine of us remaining friends had spent the whole past hour playing our brand new Wii. So far, I had beaten all of my friends at boxing on the game Wii Sports.

I finished off Mason’s character and then I threw my arms in the air. “Watch how I do this!” I sang as I danced around.

Jonah grabbed my hand and pulled me onto the couch. “Calm down,” He advised. “You really need to.”

I laughed and then I pecked him on the lips. I was about to challenge him to a match, when the door to our apartment swung open. All of our heads turned and we saw Drew standing in the doorway.

He was missing a shoe, one of his sleeves was ripped and both of his eyes and his lip were swollen. We all stood up from either the couch or floor and looked at him in disbelief.

“What the heck happened to you?!” Maven asked him.

He slammed the door and then he walked towards us. “Zack happened.”

“What?!” We all wondered in unison.

He ruffled his hair and began explaining. “Well… Peyton had told Zack that I said that I loved her earlier today. When I went over to his house and rung his doorbell, he opened the door. Right as he saw me in the doorway...” He took a deep breath and then he looked each of us in the eye. “Well, let’s just say that Zack doesn’t like me that much.”

“So he beat you up?” Mason yelled, throwing the Wii remote onto the couch. “He’s so going to pay!”

“No one messes with one of our fellow men!” Jonah pointed out, referring to Drew as if he was part of the army, not just one of his guy friends.

“Guys, don’t do it,” McKinley said, noticing that the boys were getting their fighting faces. “You’re just going to cause an even bigger mess.”

Lucas, who seemed eager to join Jonah and Mason, stood up and crossed his arms. “No McKinley, we can’t just let him get away with hurting Drew!”

“But how will beating him up help?” Harlow asked.

“It’ll knock a little bit of sense into that dang Zack’s head,” Jared replied, standing next to the rest of the guys.

I looked at the girls and sighed. I shook my head at them. “Just don’t get hurt. And don’t kill him.”

They nodded and all five boys went to open the door of the apartment.

Right as the door was opened, we saw Peyton standing in the doorway. She had tear stains and mascara smeared across her cheeks and her bottom lip was trembling uncontrollably.

Before we could react, she ran towards Drew and hugged him closely and tightly.  She then went on the tip of her toes, closed her blue/green eyes and pressed her lips against his.

My jaw dropped at the sight. Everyone had the same expression as me as we watched Drew and Peyton kiss in the middle of the living room. I couldn’t help but smile as I realized that Drew had finally gotten his first kiss. To make it even better it was with Peyton Roman-Wolfe, the woman he loved!

Tears streamed down his face too as he held her close and kissed her passionately as if he would never let go. Those tears that were rolling down his cheeks were tears of pure happiness. All he ever wanted was to be with Peyton, and now he finally had what he wanted for years and years in his arms. He held her so gently as if she would break if his grasp was too hard on her. It was all just so romantic.
