This chapter is dedicated to The Gang, we shared practically the same exact snowball fight :)

“Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy!” Someone called out to me.

My eyes bolted open, revealing McKinley practically on top of me, her blonde hair a mess and a huge smile on her face. I rubbed my eyes and shook my head a little to wake myself up. I then looked at my alarm clock; the red digits read six thirty. “There has to be an emergency for you to wake me up this early.”

“It’s not an emergency, but it’s important!” She told me, the smile not leaving her face.

“What is it?” I wondered, wishing that I was still sleeping and dreaming about swimming in chocolate.

“Snow!” She said gleefully, getting off my bed and pointing out the window. She was right. Snow was everywhere, on the windowsill, trees, tree house and most definitely the ground. Hills of snow had been created and covered the whole left side of the backyard. They hadn’t even been stepped in yet. The sun was just coming up, making the sky  purple and orange and slightly pink. The blaze of the sun was hitting the snow, making the hills look like shining crystals.

“Wow,” I said, getting up from bed to get a better look. I then looked at the empty beds around the room. “Where are the other girls?”

“Waiting for you!” She told me. I then looked at what she was wearing, her lilac winter jacket and her black snow pants, boots, mittens and hat, which had a large bright pink pompom on the top of it. “We need to enjoy the snow before the kids come out and destroy it!”

“You’re going outside?” I asked, not believing her.

“No, we’re going outside,” I heard someone respond. I looked at the doorway to see Jessie there in her red outwear clothing. “Come on, hurry up!”

I walked out of the bedroom to see all of my friends dressed for the snow. I knew that I had to go outside, it wasn’t an option, so I made my way towards the closet and got my turquoise jacket and the rest of my outwear ensembles requirements.

Soon, I was feeling like a fat snowman and was ready to go outside. My friends and I and waddled out the front door towards the elevator.

Seven out of my eight friends were walking at a normal pace. Jonah and I on the other hand were hardly moving, our feet not even leaving the ground as we shuffled across the floor. “You wishing you were still asleep?” He asked me in a whisper.

“Oh yes,” I responded. “I could literally fall asleep right here right now.”

He chuckled a little bit and smiled. “Same here.”

“I’ll admit, I am a little excited to go play in the snow,” I confessed.

“I can relate to you once more my friend,” He replied, punching me playfully in the shoulder. Usually that would have slightly hurt, but with my thick jacket and sweater, it didn’t even feel as if he had touched me.

We all made our way into the elevator and soon we were all outside. Once we opened the door to the backyard, a blast of cold air hit us. However, we hardly cared about the freezing cold weather because at the moment our eyes were wide in amazement of the beauty in front of us.

The hills really were like huge crystals and we could see half of the sun as it came up in the horizon. Beautiful colored clouds surrounded it and the sun’s rays bounced off of icicles from trees and the icy cold snow on the ground.
