Chapter 41: High Pitch

Jade's POV

Since that day... we felt awkwardness. Pa'no ba naman kasi, biglaan. I don't deserve a kind of guy like him. Ayoko yung laging mukha akong umaasa sa kanya.

"Jade, are you even serious with that?" Asked Phoebe.

"Serious about what?" I answered, more like a question. I was just looking at the ceiling of my room while they were enjoying the food.

"About... that. The confession of Darren and you... In love ka talaga sa kanya?" - Phoebe

"Yeah, but as myself... I don't want to always depend on him, nakakahiya naman."

"Hindi naman ibig sabihin na porket in love ka sa kanya at in love siya sa'yo, aasa ka na lang sa kanya. You can give and take." - Nicole

Humuhugot no? "Kaso nga lang, I'm not yet ready... kung sakaling may mangyaring ligawan, maybe I will accept it soon. Hindi pa nga ako nakakapag-move on e."

"Hayy, ang lakas talaga ng tama mo diyan sa ex mo. Gwapo ba yan o sadyang tinamaan ka lang ng sobra?" - Nicole

"Pareho kasi. Gwapo tapos tinamaan ako ng sobra." Then they looked at each other, shocked.

"Ang tindi mo Jade!" - Nicole

"Manloloko naman siya!"

"Sabagay, gwapo nga kung manloloko naman." - Phoebe

We were just talking about some stuffs when I heard a voice humming or something.

"Do you hear that?"

"What?" Phoebe and Nicole asked at the same time. Seems like ako lang ang nakakarinig. I just decided to stand up and find the voice I am hearing right now.

Phoebe and Nicole were at my back, confused. They were just going with me and as I am near at the voice, I heard a female voice.

She's singing at the roof top.

Maybe preparing for the upcoming singing contest of our school.

"What a good voice." I said.

"Yeah, really. Sana sakin na lang yung voice box niya." Phoebe joked.

"She has this very high pitch tone of voice na hindi ka magsasawang pakinggan."

"Yes and it's a voice that can capture the attention of anyone kasi maganda talaga." Nicole said.

We were just listening at the voice we heard until she already sang the highest parts of Love On Top, Listen and On The Wings Of Love.

We were just here clapping there and then. And we are still figuring it out kung kaninong boses yun nanggagaling.

Awesome performance.

I can't believe that I am seeing Darren now on my front. Nakatulala kasi ako. "Ay, tumigil na yung kumakanta, oh hi Darren!" Nicole said and greeted Darren.

"Hi! What are you doing all in here?"

"Nothing important, we just heared a girl na parang wala ng bukas kumanta sa sobrang taas ng boses." Phoebe said.

"Yeah and she's very great on that." I said.

I saw Darren smile and I was wondering why. Why is he smiling?

"Teka san ka nga pala galing?" I ask him.

"Oh. Uh... I went at the canteen a while ago 'cause I felt hunger."

"O...kay."

Darren's POV

They don't know that I'm the one who is singing at the roof top. And a girl? Boses babae ba talaga ako?

"Hey Darren, we heard that you're joining the upcoming singing contest here." Nicole said.

"Yeah, and I am nervous right now. And by the way where is Tricia?" I asked.

"HI!" And there. Tricia came.

"Sorry for uh, being late."

"It's okay, so what are we doing now? Darren tara!" Phoebe grabbed my wrist and we are going upstairs meaning we are going at the roof top.

"Now, let's practice for you." Jade said.

"Okay, what song will I sing?"

"Can you reach Listen?"

"Yes? I don't know? Maybe?"

"Okay just try it."

Then I sang.

As I ended the song, I saw them shocked.

"How 'bout uh, On the wings of Love?"

I sang the song and as expexted, they were shocked again.

"Darren wait, ikaw ba yung kumakanta dito kanina?" Phoebe asked.

"Yes. I was just practicing three songs. And hindi ko naman alam na nakikinig na pala kayo nun."

"It's okay but YOU ARE JUST UGH! AWESOME! How can you do that? Pwede ko bang hiramin yang voice box mo? Just for a while?" - Phoebe

"It's a matter of practice and patience."

"Oh." Jade only said.

Jade's POV

I remembered Jk again.

He can sing also like Darren.

He can also dance like Darren.

How can I forget him?

"Are you alright?" Darren asked and he sat down beside me.

"Yes I am."

"Are you sure?"

"I don't really know."

"You know what? You should forget everything. Sabi ko nga sayo, wag mo nang alalahanin pa yung past, just focus now, in the present."

"Pa'no mo nalaman na iniisip ko siya?"

"It's visible on your eyes."

"Ow."

"Yeah, and don't worry, nandito naman ako palagi for you."

That line. For you: Para sa akin.

It seems like, I always depend on his advices, on him.

I don't know but... I think I already love Darren now.

But, is this feelings meant as true?
