Chapter 33:Thinking about the future

(A/N:Noooo i have school on Monday! Uugggghhhhhhhhh)

*a day later*
Itami pov
"Oiii! Itami look at this!"

Thatch came running up to me, holding something in his hand. He showed it to me, and my eyes went wide. It was a devil fruit. It was purple & had swirly patterns all over it.

"Whoa a devil fruit! Where'd you find that?"I asked
"Ah just on the beach. Do you think I should eat it?"He asked
"Why are you asking me?! It's your devil fruit! You decide what you wanna do with it!"I said."Maybe we should see what type it is first. After all, you might get a shitty power...like turning everything to gold."
"But that would be awesome! We'd be rich!"Thatch cheered
"Yeah, but the consequences are that when you touch a person, they become gold...and you can't change them back."
Thatch huffed."Well...if you put it that way."

I laughed."Lets just study up on it, and see what type it is. Better safe than sorry."

We put the devil fruit in a locked glass case, in the kitchen.

"Ne...what are we gonna cook?"Thatch asked, searching the cupboards
"Do we have any leftovers?"I asked
"Ace ate it all."
I sweat dropped."Of course he did...well do we have meat?"
"Yeah..a lot of it."
"Barbecue night then?"
He grinned."Hell yeah."

We got a couple of the division commanders to help us get our meat ready. Marco & Ace were setting up the Barbecues outside on deck.

"And of course...Salad!"I said after grabbing out necessary ingredients.

"You're really gonna make a salad?"Thatch asked
"Well yeah! We need some sort of colour for the BBQ!"I said
Thatch rolled his eyes."Whatever...if that makes you happy, buttercup."
I bonked him."I'm not a buttercup!"
"Ow!"

Ace pov
"So..fucking..happy!"I said aggressively
"Jeez what are you so happy about, yoi?"
"We're having meat....my 2nd true love."I said
"I thought that was your brother, yoi."Marco joked
I bonked his head."Oh shut up."
Marco laughed."He is though, isn't he?"

I sighed, and leaned myself against the railing.

"Well...yeah he is, he's my little brother. He worries me sometimes."I grin."He's a idiot. But I care about him a lot. He was one of the first that actually wanted to be around me."

Marco put his hand on my shoulder."Well hopefully I will meet this brother of yours, yoi. And hopefully Itami will, too. She seems excited about meeting him, yoi."
I smile to myself."I'm just hoping he isn't gonna try & steal her away, and make her part of his crew."
Marco chuckled."If that happens, then both of us can get her back easily, yoi."

"OIIIIIII! MINNA! BARBECUE IS DONE! GRAB IT WHILE ITS STILL WARM!"Itami called

"The angel calls."I say, getting off the railing.
"Which one, yoi? The food, or your future wife?"
I grin."Both."

Itami pov
*later that evening*

Thatch & I were in the kitchen, washing the dishes.

"They ate everything!"I hummed
"Well, more like Ace ate everything."Thatch said, putting away a dish
I giggled."Yeah..."I sighed."He sure did."

I felt Thatch nudge me. I look over to him, and saw him wiggling his eyebrows at me. I blushed & quickly went back to cleaning a dish.

"You looooove him~!"Thatch teased
"No shit!"

Thatch laughed."I have a question."
"Ask away."
"If he offered for you two to get married, would you say yes?"
I blushed."W-well....yes! Of course I would! I'm pretty sure I will say yes.."
"You seem hesitant."
"Yes..."I sighed."I've never really thought about it...us two getting married. It would be nice though..just us two...together."
"Well if it does happen, and you two have children, can I be a Uncle?"Thatch asked
I chuckled."Sure sure..whatever you say."
"Speaking of children...what do you wanna name them?"

I stared off in thought.

"Well...if we were to have a boy...I thought of Creed. And then for a girl, Alice. I've always loved those names. They just sound unique."
Thatch smiled."They're both beautiful names, Itami.....now all you two need to do, is to have sex!"
"Thatch!"
Thatch laughed."Sorry sorry, I was tempted!"

We went back to cleaning. I couldn't help but think about all of that. Marriage? Children? Of course I wanna do that with Ace. But I don't know if I'm ready for that sort of a thing just yet. I'm only 21 for peats sake! A adult fresh from being a teenager!

'But...I do wanna get married some day. If I were to marry Ace...then I will do it. I'm pretty sure Ace & I will live a long, happy life together.'

I sighed inwardly, and picked up a spoon. I looked in the reflection, and fluffed up my hair.

'Huh?'

I squinted at the reflection, and saw that there was someone behind Thatch. He was reaching out for the knife, and held it above Thatch.

My eyes widened. I quickly ( and quietly) grabbed a butcher knife, spun around & threw it at Thatch's attacker. He stumbled back, and knocked the glass case over. Thatch turned around, and we both stared at the attacker, and was shocked to see Teach sitting there.

'T-Teach?! No...he's in Aces division! What was he trying to do!'

He quickly grabbed the fruit, and ran off. I immediately started chasing after him, summoning my scythe as I chased Teach down the hall.

"GET BACK HERE!"I yelled

He kept on running, and soon I had chased him out on deck. The guys saw me chasing Teach.

"Itami-sama what are you-

"DON'T JUST STAND THERE! HE'S GETTING AWAY WITH THATCHS DEVIL FRUIT! HE ALMOST KILLED THATCH!"I yelled

The crew members immediately started chasing after Teach. Old man came out, checking to see what the ruckus was about. But when he saw Teach being chased after with blood, and Thatch's devil fruit...he commanded us this:

"DON'T LET THAT SWINE GET AWAY!"

Teach suddenly jumped over the railing, and landed on a boat in the sea.

"GET BACK HERE NOW SO I CAN WHOP YOUR ASS!"Ace & I yelled
Teach laughed."Sorry princess! No can do! I've been waiting for this fruit for too damn long!"He pulled out a gun."I didn't give you my present...so here it is! Happy birthday!"

Before I could even register what he said, he had already pulled the trigger. I gasped in pain, and felt myself fly back from the bullet. I landed on the ground with a thud, my head violently whacking into the railing.

"ITAMI!"

'God damn it...why do I always get hurt?'

My vision was getting blurry. I could see Marco & Ace by my side, trying to keep me awake.

"Ace......Mar...co.."I groaned out, before darkness took my eyesight

(A/N:And now, it begins! The Marineford arc! I won't be available till Sunday guys, im going out for the weekend. Hopefully i can update on Sunday before school starts back up on Monday...ugh School. Haha I'll be back in a couple of days!)
