Maine's Twitter notifications suddenly tripled after she posted her tweet. This was normal for her specially if bashers mentioned her or Alden. It was really, really normal.
"Hey! What's up? Napatawag ka?"
"Thank you."
"Huh?"
"Sa tweet mo. You really don't have to, Maine. Sinabi ko na 'yan sa'yo before."
Maine was in her room in Bulacan. Coleen was on a date, Ate Niki was out with her hubby and Matti, Dean was doing project with her friends, Kuya Nico was at their office doing some late work revisions and her parents went to Church. She had the house all by herself except for their kasambahays. She let out a shaky breath.
"I just...I don't know. Basta."
"Maine..."
"I know. It's just that, overwhelming na sila? Lalo na sa'yo! I mean, you really have commitments after the wedding. Nag-ask ka na nga ng permission kila Bossing at Pauleen eh. Naintindihan naming lahat pero bakit mayroon paring hindi?" Maine whined. Her eyes got misty as she spoke. She discreetly sniffed.
"Oy! Umiiyak ka ba? Hahahahaha!"
"Tse!"
"I'm sorry. Sorry na po? I understand you. I read all the tweets and mentions. Ako nga kebs lang tapos ikaw nag-react?"
"Sobra na kasi eh!"
"Matagal na silang ganyan ah?"
"Eh! Basta! Sobra sila sa'yo! I mean kebs kung ako, eh hindi eh! Ang sasakit nang sinasabi nila sa'yo! Hindi tama 'yun!"
Maine pulled some tissues and blew her nose. She didn't hide anymore that she was crying. As she wiped her eyes again, she heard nothing on the other side.
"Shoks? Uy! Nandyan ka pa?"
"You know that you're a blessing to me right?"
Maine was caught off guard. "What are you saying?"
"You are a good person Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza. I...really...basta!"
"RJ? Okay ka lang?"
"Yep I am."
"Ikaw ba ang umiiyak ngayon?"
"Tse!"
"Don't copy me Tisoy. 'Yung totoo? Umiiyak ka?"
"I'm just happy. Nandyan ka eh."
Maine heard RJ released a shaky breath. She imagined him now, probably on his car or inside a tent for another event that he signed up for or probably on his way home to Laguna. She smiled to herself.
"Basta ikaw. Alam mo naman 'yun diba?"
"Yes. Ako din. Alam mo din 'yun diba?"
"Lagi naman..."
