A Few Months Later
Brielle's POV
Excitement rushed through me as I hopped out my car, tossing my purse over my shoulder and closed the door behind me. These last few months have been incredibly stressful and busy. So many things have been happening and I haven't seen Jack in almost two whole months because of that.
I walked through the restaurant, the dinging from the bell above the door sounding off. I was greeted by a young waitress asking how many were with me but before I could say anything, I was cut off by a excited Jack waving from his seat like a child.
I excused myself from the waitress and had to stop myself from running to Jack. A quick speed walk got me across the room in a few seconds. Jack stood up from his seat and immediately engulfed me in a tight hug, lifting me off my feet.
"I missed you so damn much." He mumbled in my ear, swaying us from side to side.
I smiled, "I missed you too, Jack."
We stood there, hugging each other for a few more minutes. He finally let me back on my feet and we pulled away, "Sit, please." Jack pointed to the seat across from him.
I nodded and took a seat quickly, "How've you been? It's been so long." I sighed, scooting the seat into the table.
Jack exhaled deeply, "I've been great. Johnson and I've been in the studio almost every day, working on tons of new music."
"That's awesome." I smiled.
"Yeah we had our second European tour a few weeks ago, so now it's just been studio time." He explained, taking a sip of his ice water.
I tilted my head and grinned, "That's awesome. I'm proud of you guys."
"Thank you." We made deep, intense eye contact, "What about you?"
I smiled, " Well," I dragged out, "A lot has happened these few months."
"Well.." Jack leaned forward in his chair, eyebrows raised.
I laughed, "I finally moved out of my moms place for one!" I exclaimed, a huge grin on my face.
"Really? Where'd you move?" He asked, a grin as big as mine on his face.
"I got my own apartment, it's close to Marie."
"That's awesome! I know you must be excited about that."
"Yeah, It feels weird not having to hear my mom ask me where I was or why I was coming in so late. I feel like a true adult." I giggled.
"I know how you feel. When Johnson and I got our own house it was crazy." He sighed, "What about the business? How's that working?"
I sat up straight, "Oh yeah, So, " I dragged out once again, "I'm taking some online classes my lawyer suggested and Marie's helping me look for a place to get for the business. Everything is going smoothly and I'm so excited."
"I'm proud of you." Jack smiled, "You put your mind to this and you're sticking to it no matter what."
"Thank you, enough of me though. I'm just really happy to be here right now" I reached over and grabbed his hand, "with you."
Jack looked down at our hands and intertwined our fingers, a sweet grin on his face, "So am I."
* * * *
"Aww," Marie cooed, "You guys are so cute."
Jack and I were laying on the couch, wrapped in each others arm, watching reruns of Bob's Burgers. We were both enjoying each others company as Marie walked in, baring gifts aka Chinese take out.
