The Next Day
"You guys did what!?" Marie exclaimed, in complete disbelief.
I giggled as I chewed on a French fry - something I have had in a while -
I shrugged softly, "Went cliff diving."
"Why? You just get your freedom and you try to kill yourself?!" She continued to exclaim.
I rolled my eyes and threw a French fry at her, hitting her on the chest, "Will you calm down? I didn't kill myself nor was I attempting to. I've wanted to do it for years, I just figured it was the perfect time." I explained.
She sighed, "If this is what you're doing with your freedom then I'm genuinely concerned."
I laughed and threw another fry at her, "Shut up, I'll be fine."
"Okay but stop throwing food at me!" She whined, tossing a fry back at me.
I rolled my eyes playfully, mimicking her without making noises. She laughed while shaking her head at my childishness.
"I'll disregard that, but anyway, did you have fun?" She asked, "You know with Jack."
I nodded with an impalpable smile, "Yeah, he was strangely up for it. I was gonna jump by myself but he offered to jump with me. He grabbed my hand before we jumped." I indiscernibly blushed
Marie raised her eyebrows, "Really? That's so cute."
I bit my lip, stirring my ketchup with my last fry, "It was crazy; on our way down its like everything was in slow motion. I thought he would call me a lunatic then leave but he didn't." I simpered.
"You like him, don't you?" She smiled, tilting her head to the side.
I shrugged,"Maybe? I don't know, I just really like his company."

"What's on today's crazy agenda?" Jack asked, hopping in the car with a smirk.
He looked great, but that was nothing unexpected. He wore a maroon hoodie with a pair of khaki pants and his black and white sk8-Hi's. His hair was perfectly done and he wore a beautiful smile on his face. Not to mention he smelt amazing, the perfect amount of cologne used.
"We're gonna take it down a notch, I actually have something a little cheesy and corny planned but it's something I've always wanted to do." I explained, leaning back in my seat as I drove off to our destination.
Jack nodded, "Alright," he chuckled, "what is it?"
I shook my head and ignored him, turning on my radio. My phone was ready plugged up to the aux cord. As I came to a stop sign a few feet away, I quickly turned on the playlist I had planned.
"Brielle, are you gonna answer me?" Jack asked with a slight titter.
I smirked, humming along to Big Sean's song "I Know" ft Jhene Aiko. I didn't wanna give out any hints, ruining my surprise.
Jack groaned playfully, knowing I wasn't gonna answer and looked out the passenger side window with a faint smile on his face.

Once I put my car in the parking lot, I took the keys out of the ignition then I grabbed the basket full of different foods. With Jack following behind, we found an open spot on the beach.
It was a beautiful day outside, the sky was baby blue, faintly cloudy, the sun was beaming down and there was a cool breeze every now and then to cool off our heated skin.
"A picnic?" He questioned with a smile, rubbing his chin slowly.
I giggled, feeling a little embarrassed, "I know, it's really cheesy and girly but I've always wanted to have one, I don't know it's lame." I looked off in the distance at the big sandy opened field with kids, little puppies, adults and minimum teens running around.
"No it's cute, did you get a blanket?" He asked with a warm smile.
I looked back at him with a surprised grin, "of course." I opened the basket and pulled out a big black blanket,
Jack grabbed it gingerly, his hand grazing mine, whipping it open and laying it flat on the sand. He sat down then looked at me, subsequently patting the spot next to me.
I softly tittered and plopped down next to him, placing the basket in front of us after making myself comfortable by sitting with my legs crossed over the other.
"So what do you got in here?" He sighed happily, grabbing the basket and taking the food out, "Sandwiches, cob salads and," he aw'd, "little juice boxes."
I laughed, covering my face in embarrassment, "Don't tease me."
"I'm not, this is cute." He gave me a small smile, grabbing a sandwhich, "Now what type of sandwiches are these?" He questioned, examining it.
I laughed, grabbing one and unwrapping it, "This beautiful creation," I took a big bite and swallowed, "Is a maple ham with lettuce, cheese and the option of mayo or no mayo sandwhich." I smiled proudly after I swallowed my food.
"Did you make it?" He raised his eyebrow, unwrapping the sandwich from its clear plastic wrap.
"Handcrafted all by myself." I grinned, wiping my mouth.

"Jack! Don't you dare!" I shouted, holding out my hands as I kept hopping backwards.
"Brielle, you started this." He reminded me, a smirk playing upon his chocolate ice cream smeared lips.
I laughed, "But, come on that's not cool. I said sorry! Let me get a free pass." I begged, giggling as I continued to step back every time he stepped forward.
Jack finally stopped walking, his ice cream no longer raised threatening in the air, "Alright," he breathed, looking down at his ice cream.
I let out a relieved sigh but then began to scream once Jack sneak attacked me and took two huge steps forward and grabbed me by my waist forcefully but not enough to hurt me.
He held the slow dripping ice cream near my face, "No! Jack please!" I squealed, trying my hardest to get out of his grip but he was too strong.
Before I could beg him even more, he smeared ice cream across my mouth. He let go of me and took a few steps back, hunched over due to laughter.
I gasped and bent over slightly, not wanting to get any on my black short-sleeved romper with a pink and red flowery design on it. I slowly wiped some off my mouth and nose, whipping the excess ice cream off my hands to the ground.
"I hate you." I mumbled, pouting faintly.
Jack aw'd and took a step forward, "Brielle, don't be like that." He chuckled.
I shook my head, "It went up my nose." I attempted to sound angry but ended up giggled.
Jack also began chortling, placing his hand on my hip, "At least we're even." He smiled softly, looking down at me as a dribble of ice cream dripped down his chin.
I wiped it off with my thumb and licked it off, "I bet we look like idiots to everyone else here." I giggled.
Jack bit his lip as he looked around for a few seconds subsequently looking down at me, "Yeah well I don't care." He noted while staring into my eyes.
I grinned shyly, "Me neither."
Jack placed both of his hands on my waist, "I like spending time with you, Bri." He added.
"The feeling is mutual Jack." I admitted.
Jack looked pleased with my reply, "How about I take you out next time?" He suggested.
I bit my lip softly, "I'd like that. But nothing expensive." I agreed.
"Why not?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows slightly.
I shrugged, "I don't want you to spend money on me. I just wanna get to know you more." I confessed.
Jack smiled and wrapped his arms around me, pulling me into a comforting yet unexpected hug. I chortled as I leaned my head against his chest, intertwining my hands together around his torso.
Jack laid his head on top of mine and murmured softly, "That's why I like you, Brielle."
