The Fashion Show
The best top models were here to model in my mother's clothing; Cara Delevinge, Kendal Jenner, Chanel Iman, Joan Smalls, Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Sara Sampaio, you name it and she was walking this runway. I was excited for her and definitely proud, no matter how controlling my mother may be she is one of the best business women you'll ever meet.
Of course I had to showcase some of my mother's work, so I wore my absolute favorite two piece outfit; Long black lace maxi dress, it was solid until the mid-thigh then the rest was sheer lace and I wore a black long cropped shirt with black lace detailing. I paired them with a pair of black Mary Jane pumps.
My hair was curled and styled to perfection and my makeup was slightly dramatic, smokey eye, winged eyeliner and Matte maroon colored lipstick.
I was getting ready to walk the White Carpet, waiting for my cue to began walking. Once I was given the signal, I stepped onto the clean White Carpet, being instantly bombarded by blinding flashes. Of course I kept my composure, smiling and doing different posing.
"Hey, sorry I'm late." I heard Jack whisper beside me, sliding his arm around my waist.
It was evident I was frightened slightly by my visible jump, "My goodness, you scared me!" I exclaimed through clenched teeth as I continued to smile for the camera.
"Sorry," He chortled, pulling me into him.
After a few more minutes of walking the White Carpet, we could finally walk into the actual building. With Jack hot on my heels, we made our way backstage so I could greet my frantic mother.
"Oh Brielle darling, there you are I need your he- Jack Gilinsky?" She raised her eyebrows, "What are you doing here?"
"Just here to enjoy the runway and see your highly remarkable designs, Miss. White." He said politely, a smile on his face.
My mom looked impressed as she eyed him up and down, "You clean up very well, Jack. I'm impressed." She smiled softly.
Jack nodded, "Thank you ma'am, you look very spectacular yourself."
She held her hand to her chest, "Oh stop it, " She giggled, making me scrunch up my face in disgust.
"You said you needed my help, mom?" I said raised my voice slightly, trying to get her attention.
She sighed, "Oh right, I need you to say this speech at the beginning of the fashion show, our speaker couldn't make it sadly and I quickly wrote these up for you." She handed me three index cards.
I exhaled as I scanned over the words, "Um, yeah sure. I-I can do it for you, no worries."
My mom clapped her hands toggether happily, "Oh thank you dear, It means a lot." She smiled wide, holding my face momentarily before walking away.
"You okay, Brielle?" Jack asked, watching me as I read over the speech once again.
Truth is, I was nervous. She knew how much I hated speaking in front of crowds and tonight was a huge crowd with tons of famous celebrities. I was a nervous wreck and I couldn't help but feel like I was gonna stutter while reading or trip while walking up.
I looked up at him and tried to give him a reassuring smile, "Huh, oh yeah I'm fine." I lied.
Jack placed his hands on my shoulders, vaguely dipping his head to meet my gaze, "You're nervous aren't you?"
I sighed, pursing my lips as I swallowed my saliva, "Yes, I've never been the type to like to talk in front of big crowds." I admitted.
"Hey it's alright, just look at me while reading. It'll make things easier, don't sweat it." He suggested, his thumbs rubbing over my shoulders in a soothing motion.
I nodded, "Thank you Jack."
He smiled, "No problem, Brielle."
The Commencing Of The Fashion Show
I pursed my lips together tightly before taking a couple deep breaths, shaking my hands and stretching my neck to try and get rid of my nerves.
"Are you ready, love?" My mother asked, rubbing my upperarms from behind.
I nodded, "Mhmm, sure am." I lied, my voice slightly shaky. "Please don't mess this up." She beseeched before walking away.
Way to add the pressure mother.
"It's show time!" The stage director shouted, giving me my cue to walk out.
I walked out from behind the big white curtains, a pageant smile on my face. I managaed to walk to the center of the runway without tripping.
"Hello ladies and gentlemen, welcome and thank you all for coming to J.W's runway!" I exclaimed, my eyes searching for Jack's in the crowd.
"The styles you'll be seeing tonight are very unique and extremely elegant with a side of edge" I finally met Jack's eyes, an encouraging smile on his face.
"My mother, Jennifer White, has been designing clothes since her teenage years. And now she's been able to live her dreams for the past fifteen years. I hope you guys will enjoy the show my mother organized tonight. Sit back and enjoy the many beautiful designs. And once again, thank you all for coming." I finished, bowing slightly and walking off the stage.
I took a huge breath of relief once I was no longer the center of attention. The stage director then began rushing the models out on the stage. I couldn't find my mother anywhere so I decided to go to my seat and enjoy the show. After saying excuse me about ten times and ducking down so I wasn't in anyones view of the show, I finally reached my seat next to Jack and sat down.
"You did great, Brielle." He complimented me, resting his hand ontop of mine that laid on the armrest.
I grinned softly, "Thank you, Jack."
Jack leaned over so his mouth was near my ear, "I don't think I've told you this yet, but you look so gorgeous tonight Brielle." He whispered, "And I don't know if it was something I said to you yesterday but whatever it was, I apologize."
I tensed up as I felt his warm breath hit my neck, side eyeing him as he whispered in my ear.
I exhaled a deep breath I didn't know I was holding in quietly, "You didn't do anything, Jack. If anything you made me think and possibly encouraged me." I replied.
Jack furrowed his eyebrows, opening his mouth to say something but I cut him off, "Don't sweat it." I mocked his words from earlier.
Jack smirked and leaned back in his seat, the both of us watching the rest of the runway show. Every now and then I'd sense Jack's eyes on me and I'd also glance over at him from time to time. He looked amazing and I never really looked at his features until, he was definitely handsome.
It took me by shock that a guy like him even wanted to be in my presence.
I didn't want him to see this me, the fake Brielle. I want him to get to know the real me, but in order to do that I'd have to get to know myself.
