For the first time in months, I had a full day to do whatever I wanted to do. Whether that was go out on an adventure or lounge around in a sports bra and underwear and listen to music.

I had been doing option two since I woke up. My mom wasn't home and wouldn't be home for a few days due to a trip she had to take to New York for her clothing line. The house was all mine and I couldn't be happier.

I had made myself some oatmeal, did my makeup just because and was now singing and dancing along to my blasting music. "Bassline" by Kalin and Myles was booming throughout the house and was on repeat.

Marie was forced to go out with her family for the day so she couldn't hang out with me. I didn't mind being alone, it's actually been so long since I was alone for a long period of time that I forgot what it felt like. I forgot what it felt like to not have someone watching your every move; it was refreshing.

The door bell ringing stopped me from dancing around in the living room, also making me groan.

"One second!" I shouted, pausing the music before walking to the door.

I unlocked the door and opened it halfway, "Yes-Jack?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Surprise!" He chuckled, holding a bag in his hand and flowers in the other.

"What are you doing here? I thought you said you were gonna be busy all day." I asked, not expecting his visit.

He nodded, "Yeah I thought I was too but we cut it short since we got a lot done. Can I come in?"

"Oh yeah, sure." I opened the door more so he could get inside and closed it behind us.

"So what were you doin-woah." He interjected himself once we turned around and saw me.

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and looked down, gasping loudly and attempting to cover myself with my arms, "Shit! I totally forgot." I said clearly abashed.

Jack laughed, "No no it's fine, I like it." He looked me up and down.

I rolled my eyes, "Of course you do, you're a guy. Look just stay here" I began to walk backwards towards the steps, pointing my finger at him, "..and face the door for like 15 seconds so I can run up the stairs."

Jack shook his head as he chuckled but obliged. As soon as he turned around I ran for the stairs, tripping on the last few.

"I'm okay!" I shouted before continue up the stairs and into my room.

I grabbed my black robe, mentally face palming myself for not only embarrassing myself once but twice. I took a deep inhale and exhale before going back downstairs. Jack was no longer in the place I left him.

"Jack?" I asked.

"In the living room." He answered.

I followed his voice and saw him staring at some baby pictures on the walls and tables.

"You were adorable, Brielle." He gushed, picking up a baby picture of me smiling wide with pigtails in my hair.

"Yeah, childhood was the best." I let out a sigh.

Jack looked over at me with a soft smile, "You haven't changed."

I giggled and tilted my head to the side, raising my eyebrow while taking the picture out of his hands, "Oh come on, I changed a little."

I held the picture up next to my face and imitated the facial expression. Jack laughed and stepped closer to me, gently placing his hands on my face.

"The only difference is you learned to do makeup and puberty gave you boobs."

I lowered the picture, "Thank god I did."
