"So what the hell was that unexpected call about last night?" Marie asked as soon as she got my attention.
I put on my dove white dress after my photo shoot, sliding on my sandal strapped heels and my black Panama hat. I applied a little bit of pink Dr. Rescue chapstick.
"I had to shoot an extra scene." I lied, smirking inwardly.
"Maybe you could fool your mom but I'm your best friend, now what's the deal?"
I sighed in defeat, "Alright fine, Jack wanted to take me out so his plan was to call my mom and tell her I had extra scenes to shoot and I had to do them that night." I confessed.
Marie gasped, "Oh my goodness," she covered her mouth with her hands and squealed, stomping her feet lightly, "That is so cute."
I tittered, "Yeah it was nice to just have fun." I admitted.
"Where did you guys go?" She asked, placing her hands on her knees.
"Disneyland" I smiled softly.
"He took you to Anaheim?" She asked a little surprised.
I nodded, "Yeah, it was a lot of fun honestly. I haven't laughed that much in months."
"He makes you happy, huh?" She slyly smirked.
I chuckled, "You act like we're dating. We're just hanging out, don't get too happy just yet."
She rolled her eyes, "Whatever, let me be happy for you. I don't remember the last time I seen you with a guy that genuinely made you smile."
I nodded, "That's because it's been a while."
That Afternoon
I sighed loudly, walking out of the beige office. I was finally done with my last meeting of the day. Now the rest of the day was mine to spend however.
I looked down at my gold watch on my wrist to check the time as I pressed the down button for the elevator.
4:36PM
I licked my lips, tapping my foot as I watched the numbers placed above the elevator approach my floor. All I really wanted was to 1.) get out these heels and 2.) get something to eat. I was starving since the last thing I ate was breakfast this morning at 6am.
As the elevator dinged and the doors opened, my phone went off. I stepped inside the desolated elevator, pressing the lobby button. I whipped my phone out my all black wristlet purse, seeing that I was getting a call.
"Brielle White speaking." I answered in a rather monotoned voice.
"Brielle White huh?" I heard his familiar voice chortle, "is there any possible way I could speak to just Brielle?"
"Hello Jack." I smiled softly, shifting my weight to one side.
"Hello Brielle," he mocked me, "How are you?"
"Tired. Very tired." I sighed, pushing a stray of hair out of my face.
"That sucks. Busy day?" He assumed.
I nodded, "Very busy day."
"How about you tell me all about it over dinner?" He offered.
I smiled, "I'd love that. Where should I meet you?" I asked.
"How about we take it down a notch and go to Panera?"
I furrowed my eyebrows, the elevator dinging and the doors opening, "I've never been there before." I stepped out the elevator.
