"Aren't you coming?" He asked, His blue eyes shining from the setting sun.
"Yeah, uhm... I'll.. be there in a while..." I stuttered. He looked at me confused. "I just need to send stuff to my friend." I got up and started making my way through the hallway. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around expecting to tell Zale to go and I'll be right there, but to my surprise, it was Tristan. I jumped.
"Uh, hey." He said nervously and so low.
"Hey, Uh.. did you need something?" I asked.
"I... uh.. I... Where's the bathroom?" He finally answered.
"It's actually right here." I pointed to the left. "You forgot where the bathroom was?
"Uh. Yeah... It's been a..uhh while.."
"Oh, well I know, this place is big. I still get lost."
We both laughed. I guess it wouldn't be awkward.
"Okay. I'll be down in a few. I just need to do something real quick." I turned around and started walking again.
Tristan and I left off on bad terms. Sorta. More like I threw a tantrum. I wonder if we can ever be close like how we were when we were kids. Will I be able to let him into my life again? I shook those thoughts out of my head.
I just got over my recent break up. I shook my head even harder. No. I can't think of the past anymore.
When I got to my room, I quickly went online hoping Joyce was on. And she was.
My room was painted lavender. My bed was set in the middle against the wall with purple comforters, two white desks on both side, my walk in closet with my own bathroom attached was on the left side, my study desk with my laptop on it was on the opposite side of my closet, and my many few guitars in the corner.
Me: 'Joyce!!!!'
Her: 'Wazzup!?'
Me: 'I've got news'
Her: 'Spill!!! :D'
Me: 'Remember how I told you about the Clarksons when we were little?'
Her: 'Go on'
Me: 'They're here. At my house. That's why I had to leave so fast.'
Her: '.... :O'
Me: 'I know!'
Her: 'Why are they at yours?'
Me: 'I have no eye-dea! But they have grown! Dylan, Zale and Tristan are all hot!!'
Her: 'Tell me when you know! I'm jealous!!!!! But, I have to go! Sozz! Bye!!!'
Me: OKAY! Tomorrow! See you later!'
I sighed, closed my laptop and walked to my bed and flopped myself so I was look at my designed ceiling.
"Ahem."
I jumped up and sat straight up. Zale. A smile on his face.
"Sorry to startle you. But the food, it's ready." He said still smiling.
"It's okay. I'll be down in a bit." I said laying back down.
"You said that earlier. It's been twenty minutes."
I sat straight up. "Twenty minutes?!" That's understandable; my ceiling just distracts the hell out of your mind.
"Uh, ye—you play guitar?!" He asked interrupting himself and made his way to the corner filled with guitars.
"Y-yeah, for a while now. I'm actually in a band"
He picked up my favorite guitar and started playing away. I was shocked! My mouth hung open.
"You- you play?"
"I know little."
He played for another five minutes until I realized everyone was in the backyard eating.
"I think we should go down now" I said getting up quickly.
"Oh shoot, yeah. " He followed behind.
When we made it to the back, the others were under the gazebo laughing and talking. Zale and I made our way over.
"Hey!" I said.
They all turned to me and smiled, then went back to their conversations. Dylan and Ethan we talking about sports. Figures. Crystal was texting. Zale and Jon were talking about girls. So this just leads me with Tristan.
"Hey." He murmured.
"Hi." I responded.
He smiled.
"So what brings you guys here? A vacation?" I asked.
"Uh, no. We're actually moving back."
"Oh."
"Yeah, my parents said they missed the California weather. But I think it was because their Surf shop had more customers here."
"Ohh. So where are you guys going to stay at?"
"Uhh. We already moved in. Into our old house this morning."
My eyes went wide. I made them close a little and looked surprised. How didn't I notice any moving stuff on the way to the mall?!
"How cool! So that means you guys are going to our school?"
"Y-yeah, I think so."
We all tried catching up, but instead we talked about current events. I mean, it was all awkward. Crystal was whining about eating hot dogs and burgers and cheerleading this and that. It's just about to become just like old times. After a few hours, they left to next door. I was relieved. I couldn't stand the awkwardness. I'm glad they have moved back and all, but things have changed, we're all older and so has our attitudes.
I walked into my room and opened my laptop. "video chat invite". I changed in to comfortable pajamas and clicked 'accept'.
Joyce: There she is!! Letty!
Thomas: Heyeeyeye!
Ray: .....Yo
Me: hey guys. Sorry I just got the invite.
Joyce: it's all good!
Ray: Hey Letty. So our band name. 'Foreignly Obsessed' is a go.
Me: Cool!
Joyce: Have you told Becky?
Me: Oh shoot! I was going to call her when I got home, but I never had the chance.
I looked at my buddy list and found that she was on. I invited her to our chat.
Becky: hey guys, what's up!?
All: HEY!
Me: Becky! We...uh. Changed the name of our band. Foreignly Obsessed.
Becky: Who thought of it?
Ray: I did!
Joyce: Yeah. No, I did.
Me: do you like it?
Thomas: We could always change it again.
Becky: Uhh. Yeah, I guess.
Me: Cool.
Joyce: so practice tomorrow around 2 at yours, Letty?
Me: yeah, Always! I'm getting tired. I'll see you guys later! Byee!
We hadn't realized it was one in the morning. I turned off my laptop, closed it, placed it back on my desk and walked over to close my curtains. I looked out and found a faint light. I looked closer and realized Tristan was up still decorating his room. I smiled and closed my curtains. I lay in my comfortable bed and thought until I drifted off to sleep.
