Next Day
Barry burst into the apartment to see Dakota asleep next to Cooper. They were curled up in front of the fire place with gauze wrapped around Cooper's torso.
"Dakota..." Barry murmured.
She turned over and sat up, "About damn time."
Barry came over and sat next to her, "What happened?"
"Reverse Flash. He threatened me. Had a knife. Cooper bit his hand and he....he..." Dakota broke down and cried into his shoulder.
"Shhh...shhh...you're safe now. Ya know I was gonna wait until your birthday to give you this but..." Barry handed her a key. "In light of recent events I want us to live together. Where I can protect you."
Dakota chuckled, "Why were you late?"
"Joe had to show me something." Barry murmured. "The important thing is that you're okay and Cooper is okay."
"He's resting. Come on let's head to the lab." Dakota gently poked Cooper awake.
He slowly stood up and licked her face.
STAR Labs
"Time travel?" Dakota asked. "If these past few months have proved anything. Time travel is definitely possible."
"Like actually jump through space?" Joe asked.
"Yes. It's very possible. But it would cause pitfalls. Ruptures." Wells explained waving his hands in the air.
That's when Dakota noticed the bite mark on his hand. It's healing and faint but it's there.
She crossed her arms, "Coop. Come here." Cooper perked up and came to her side. "That's quite the scratch on your hand Doc."
"Bite mark actually. A dog in the neighborhood got away." Wells replied interlocking his fingers together to hide it.
"Right right. Joe, a word please?" Dakota walked into the hall with Cooper.
"What's up?" Joe asked.
"Dr. Wells is the Reverse Flash. I know it." Dakota murmured trying to fight the tears.
"Eddie and I have been investigating him." Joe replied.
She pointed in the room, "That man came into my apartment and stabbed my dog in the abdomen. He is no longer a friend. He is my enemy. And I will personally see to it that an arrow ends up in his chest."
She stormed out of the building with Cooper at her heels.
Precinct
Dakota was sitting in Captain's office waiting for him to speak.
"I know it was a few months ago but..." He handed her a small black box. "The board wanted to give you this. For saving the precinct."
Dakota opened the box to reveal a small service medal, "I can't accept this. Not for killing a man."
"A criminal. He shot Eddie and almost killed Iris." Singh replied.
Dakota closed the box and put it back on his desk, "No. Tell the board I'm not accepting it. I refuse."
"Why?" Singh asked as Dakota was putting her jacket on.
"Cops don't want an award for saving people's lives. For killing a man to do it. I put three bullets in that guy's chest. I didn't have to. But I did anyway. The only difference between me and a cop is that I'm not a cop. I'm not accepting it."
