Literally writing this after I had to go home early since I'm sick. Anyways, thanks for being patient. I'll be back to posting on a regular schedule again.
*******************************************The first day that you were sick, you begged to stay home. The fact that you also had a math test that day was just a coincidence, you literally felt like death. Of course, your mom didn't believe you and sent you off to school.
"I'm going to die," you said with a cough as you and your best friend walked to your next class.
"Stop being dramatic," they said with a roll of their eyes. "You have your cough drops, right?"
"Yeah," you said with a sigh. "Why don't you love me?"
"Trust me, I do. It's just tough love," they replied, patting you on the back. The two of you entered the class and went to your seats at the back. You immediately put your head on the desk the second you sat down, reveling in the cool feeling of it against your forehead.
"Oh dear, is she dead?" You heard one of your table mates, Loki, say as he sat down across from you.
"No, but I'm in the process of it," you groaned, turning slightly to look at him.
"Her cousin got her sick," (y/b/f/n) explained.
"Last time I go to a child's birthday party," you said, sitting up straight as the teacher called the class to attention. "If I die, delete everything from my phone."
"And if we don't?" Loki asked.
"I will come back just to personally haunt you for the rest of your life," you threatened.
"Hm, that doesn't sound all that bad," Loki replied.
"Seriously man, flirt with me when I don't look like death," you told him as your teacher told your group to pay attention.
The second day that you were sick, you still felt just as miserable, if not more. Your throat was killing you and the cough definitely wasn't helping you. And, lucky you, the sneezing decided to make its appearance.
"Okay, now you look like death," (y/b/f/n) said as you approached them.
"Fuck *sneeze* you," you said, trying to laugh but getting sent into a coughing fit instead. "Again, promise you'll delete everything from my phone if I die today."
"I thought I said I wanted you to haunt me," you heard Loki comment as he walked up behind you two.
"I promise it won't be fun. I'll *sneeze* be more annoying in *sneeze* death," you responded, pulling a tissue from your pocket to block another sneeze.
"And your parents still won't let you stay home?" Loki asked, a brow raised.
"Nope, I'm not sick enough for them," you told him with a small laugh. "Yesterday I felt like death. Today I feel like death warmed over."
"Hopefully not too warm for some soup," Loki said, pulling a thermos from his backpack. "I made some before school, it should still be warm," he added with a small smile.
"Aw, you didn't have to do that," you said as you took the thermos and a spoon from him. "Thank you so much."
"It wasn't any trouble, really," Loki said, the shy smile still present on his face.
"I get that you feel like dying, but can I just say that you guys are sickeningly adorable," (y/b/f/n) said, a dreamy look on (his/her) face. "Serious goals."
"Please shut your face," you told (him/her) as you opened the thermos. You took a deep breath, inhaling the heavenly scent of the soup. "It smells so good."
"Thank you, I should be getting to class," Loki said before disappearing just as suddenly as he had appeared.
"Goals af," (y/b/f/n) whispered with a slight laugh. You ignored them,
The third day that you were sick, you were running a high fever and your parents finally let you stay home. You were in bed, teetering between the edge of consciousness and boredom. When you weren't passed out, you were either watching Netflix or YouTube (your mom saying that you obviously weren't that sick if you could still do that).
"(Y/n), you've got a visitor," your mom called to you, waking you up from another nap.
"Who is it?" You croaked back, wincing at the sharp pain in your throat.
"It's a boy from school, says his name is Loki," she replied.
"Send him up I guess," you replied, reclining back against your pillow. Your door slowly opened, Loki peeking his head through the crack. You motioned for him to go ahead and come in.
"You weren't at school today, I kinda got worried," he explained as he entered.
"How do you know where I live?" You asked, cocking your head a bit to the side.
"Sorry, I asked (y/b/f/n). I also brought you some more soup," he said, sitting on the edge of your bed and fishing the thermos from his bag. "Sorry if it's cold."
"It's alright, you really didn't have to go out of your way this much," you told him.
"Like I said yesterday, it's no trouble," he responded with a smile. He caught your gaze, the two of you silent as he leaned in.
"Wait, stop, we can't do this," you said, leaning back quickly.
"Sorry, what's wrong?" Loki asked, concern on his face.
"It's just that I don't want to get you sick," you explained, a sheepish smile on your face. "Rain check on that kiss?"
"Yeah, I'll take a rain check on it," Loki replied with a small laugh. "Anyways, would you like to go out sometime? When you're not sick, of course."
"Yeah, I'd like that," you told Loki, leaning against him. Loki wrapped his arm around you, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
