"Please, Tony? I know I can help you guys," you pleaded, following behind your older brother.

"No, (y/n), it's too dangerous," he replied firmly.

"C'mon, you're the last person who should be lecturing me on what's too dangerous," you argued. "I just want to do some science there and help."

"If I'm saying that something's dangerous, doesn't that set off any warning signals in your brain? Like maybe 'hmm, this might actually be dangerous'?" Tony retorted.

"You do realize that I'm an adult, right? I'll just ask Coulson to put me on the team," you threatened. "Either way, I'm going to help you guys."

"How did you even know about this?" Tony asked, looking at you.

"A mixture of Pepper and reading the files," you shrugged, going to grab your bag of stuff. Despite what your brother said, you were going to help them, whoever 'they' ended up being. You were tired of sitting on the sidelines, stuck in a lab while your brother went out and saved the world. Admittedly, you were going to be in a lab wherever you were going, but it still was nice to be involved.

~~Time Skip~~
They had captured the man responsible for all of this chaos that had been occurring. Banner had pointed him out to you as they marched him past the lab. You had heard him being called Loki by the SHIELD agents around the base, and he had captured your attention. "How many people did he kill?"

"According to Natasha, 80 people in two days," Bruce replied. "Why?"

"It's intriguing, according to Thor he's got some major daddy issues and then now he's trying to take over our world. Don't you find it fascinating?" You asked, tearing your eyes away from Loki.

"You do hear yourself, right?" Bruce asked as Tony walked into the lab.

"What's she saying now?" Tony asked.

"I want to interview him, try to find out what makes him tick," you said.

"No, absolutely not," Tony replied deadpan.

"And why not? I am a behavioral expert as well as a kick ass scientist," you said.

"(Y/n), you're not interviewing the psycho that's been killing people like crazy," Tony told you. "And that's final."

"Aw c'mon, Tony. Just twenty minutes, Fury's bound to have placed him in some kind of containment chamber or something," you continued.

"She's right about that," Bruce spoke up.

"See, someone gets me! Is he the only other one that has some common sense here?" You said, gesturing with your arms.

"Fine, but you can't go all Harley Quinn on me and we're monitoring your little 'interview'," Tony caved in. "You know, it's really not fair how you win so many arguments."

"It's because I'm the better Stark," you laughed, starting to exit the lab to find Fury so you could get clearance.

"That's debatable," Tony called after you.

"Not really," you called back, hearing your brother's laugh following you.

Once you got the clearance to conduct your 'interview', Fury gave you a slight debriefing. Despite not actually working for SHIELD, he was surprisingly open with the information they had on Loki. About an hour later, you had read the files and were headed towards Loki's cell.

"So, I hear that you've been a pretty bad dude," you said casually as you walked into the room. "And quite frankly, that doesn't fly well around here."

"What do you mean by that? Do you honestly think I care about your Midgardian rules?" Loki asked, his velvety voice surprising you a bit.

"Not really, considering the whole 'my life sucks I'm gonna try to ruin yours' act you have going on. Tell me, does the whole adopted thing have anything to do with this?" You asked bluntly, grabbing a folding chair and setting it up.

"You have no idea what it's like, growing up only to be told that you aren't who you've been told you are your entire life. To have everything you work for just be taken out from under you," Loki seethed. You knew that you had him, once he started rambling like that.

"So you resort to genocide? Or do you prefer the term conquest?" You asked, leaning forward. "Again, really not cool in our books."

"Who are you? You're not special or important in any way," Loki started. "Are you just a lackey that they've acquired, trying to make a name for yourself?"

"Oo, nice try. Going for the whole 'you're nothing' route, really, I've heard it all before. I'm trying to understand a motive here, but all I'm getting is the 'Daddy didn't like me as much as my brother' vibe. Yeah, I heard about that," you said, pushing a strand of (h/c) hair away from your face. "Really, give me something interesting to work with here."

"What are you searching for, you mewling quim? I'm here to give your kind what you desire most, a leader to follow undoubtedly. Mankind is meant to be controlled," Loki replied, getting closer to the glass. "And I will control you."

"Okay, that sounds great and all, but my twenty minutes are up. Tell you what, give me something other than the whole god complex next time and we'll see what we do from there," you said, gathering your stuff. He was silent, watching you as you went to leave. Giving him one last glance over your shoulder, you already knew that this man had intrigued you further than any of your other subjects had in a long time. You were looking forward to that next meeting, and especially the next battle of sass.
