I gaped my eyes at the screen. Why an unknown number? What could possibly be waiting for me on the other side? All of a sudden I became a pessimist. My mind was filled with things I'd never want to face. No positive thoughts. What was I supposed to do?

"Ame answer the call" Amarion kept his hand on my shoulder and brought me out of my blizzard of thoughts. Of course I was supposed to answer it. I was over reacting perhaps.

I swiped my thumb across the screen and pressed it to my ear.

"Hello?" my mother's voice reached my ear.

"Hello? Are you okay?" I asked in a trice.

"Yes, my dear I'm fine" she replied and before she could speak further I questioned again "Is everyone else fine too?"

"Yes, everyone is fine too but you don't seem okay" she replied and I sighed.

"No, it's just that you weren't answering any of my calls. I got a little worried" I tittered.

"A lot" Amarion mouthed and I smiled at him.

"It's okay Amour. Don't worry. We were really tired and slept longer than usual. Nothing else" she reasoned.

"Yeah, long journey. But whose number is this?" I questioned again curiously.

"Your aunt's" she replied in monotone.

"Oh yeah! How's she?" I asked and glared at Amarion, who appeared to be holding back a chuckle.

I had a littke talk with mom and hung up after I was convinced that everything was just fine. Throughout the call I stared at Amarion and the funny face he was making. As soon as I hung up, he burst out laughing.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow.

"You were less of a daughter and more of an interrogator" he chuckled.

"So? I was worried" I groaned.

"But still that was very funny" he continued laughing.

"Really? You know what's funnier?" I asked him mockingly.

"That now you're questioning me" he chortled harder while grabbing his belly.

"No! But this" I took a pillow to hit him but he grabbed my wrist and pushed me on my back.

"Na na na" he teased. "That's not happening baby doll" he whsipered while he was on me. It was the first time he had called me that. I was flattered to hear those two words. And I wondered what made him say that?

"Why?" I asked and he bit his lip and looked away giggling.

"There's the interrogation again" he stuck his tongue out.

"You know, you're being really mean" I said in monotone.

"I know" he leaned forward.

"After all, you are Jade's brother" I teased.

"Older brother" he said in a hushed tone.

"And I don't mind that" I said and grabbed his collar. I brought him closer with a jerk.

"You can't" he responded.

"Why not?" I asked and closed my eyes when I realised what I had done.

He smirked at me. "You won't change" he said as he stroked my cheek. Maybe he was right I did ask a lot of questions.

"You are crazy" I whispered.

"I am but not from here" he said while gesturing at his head. "From here" he pointed at his heart and continued.

Was he even real? "Maybe, all of this is a dream. Perhaps, there is no one as Amarion in existence. It is just me who is asleep and seeing all this with my eyes closed" I thought to myself. His words and the gleam in his eyes were so surreal. Hearing and looking at him so closely was like a view of paradise with its melody echoing.

"You deserve a reward for the words that escaped your lips" I said and gazed into his eyes.

"Then present it please" he requested as he held my waist.

Without a second thought, I pressed my lips on his. I pushed my tongue into his mouth and explored the place from where his words of sugar were made. I moved my hand to the back of his head and pressed his body on mine by placing my leg on his back. He didn't really kiss me back. He was just still, as if he wanted me to do what I willed. Maybe, because it was his reward.

His movement was really gradual like he was trying to impede it. I moved my hands all over his back and ruffled his hair. I deepened the kiss as much as I could, provoking him. And then abruptly, he wandered his tongue on my lips and forcefully rubbed his body against mine. I smiled and happily welcomed his response. He pulled my lower lip with his teeth and pecked my lips. I thought he'd do more but to my dismay, he pulled away. I grabbed his arm and crossed my legs on his back, in order to make him stay. He moved his side ways as a 'no'. I furrowed my eyebrows and pouted.

"Now, don't you dare ask a question" he said and beamed.

I smiled but I wasn't convinced with his response.

"We have to go downstairs. We can do the award ceremony all night" he replied and winked. His answer made me blush and I loosened my grip on him. He gave me a kiss on my cheek while I closed my eyes in embarrassment.

"You're more beautiful when you're shy" he complimented.

"No questions" I replied and he walked to the mirror while snickering.

"Oh! Your hair looks lovely" I exclaimed as I saw his messed hair. It suited him so well. And the fact that it was due to me, made it more appealing.

"Thanks to you" he said and ran his fingers through his hair. That little action of his reminded me of someone. Suddenly, the wind of the past made me cold. But I looked at Amarion, the sunshine of my present, to make me warm. His sight reminded me of his thawing love for me, that I had a different purpose. I was no longer loving someone who wasn't mine. I had my companion, the one who loved me more than I had wished for. Yet the chills that the frigid breeze of the past gave me were still there.

Was there still a frosted corner of my heart where the sunlight hadn't reached?
