Amour
The breeze had begun to give chills. Although November hadn't even started.
The month of October held agonising memories but last year replaced them with beautiful ones.
The pain that I carried in my heart for so much time was numb. I had forgotten how it felt to be lost.
The smile on my face had became permanent. All of the loneliness and sadness had left.
I was complete again, complete to never be broken.
I walked to the cafe and gazed at its door. There was a day when I had been there alone, reminiscing the pain from the past. But an year later, there was nothing I recalled from that unfortunate time.
It was surprising how much time could change.
I smiled and opened the door. My eyes sought Amarion and there he was. The guitar was in his hands as he sang a song. Due to the sound of the bell he noticed me and I beamed. His voice turned more lively as his gaze caught mine. With a breathtaking smile, he concluded the song and gradually ceased the movements of his fingertips on the strings.
Everyone cheered and clapped as he finished the song. Ever since he had won the show, his fans were everywhere in the city. It had become difficult for us to go out together but we managed somehow.
Yes, he won. I had gone to the show for the finale and as the judges nervously announced him the winner, I jumped and cheered manically. I was happier than him. We couldn't show our affection towards each other publicly so, we celebrated backstage. He had kissed me countless times in ecstasy and dedicated his trophy to me.
"This victory is dedicated to the one who owns my voice for without them I'd never be able to sing my heart out" he had said as he upheld the trophy on the stage.
Everyone in the cafe praised him and some asked for a picture. I stood near the door waiting for him. He quickly dismissed everyone and approached me.
The old couple who had been looking at me weirdly the last time I had been there were gazing at us happily. I didn't know if anyone else had noticed the love between us but the old couple really did.
"Would we look like them when we grow old?" I wondered but then pushed the thought to the back of my mind. We have been busy living in the present and had never spoken about the future. But somewhere, I hoped that we were together in it.
Amarion smiled at me and asked me to come out. I followed him outside and he looked around to see if someone is there. He then pulled me into a hug and placed a kiss on my cheek.
"Happy anniversary, love" he whispered in my ear.
"Same to you, honey" I said as we pulled away. He held my hand and walked me to his car. He had been flooding my cellphone with voice messages and texts since 12 am. He even called me twice. He was too happy that we had completed an year together. It had brought us so much closer and the fear of losing seemed nonexistent.
He opened the door for me, it had become his habit. I smiled and took my seat. He sat on the driver's seat.
"First step, kiss on your love's hand" he said and brought my hand to his lips.
"Secondly, fasten your seat belts" he continued and I giggled.
"Thirdly, start the engine" he turned the key and the engine roared.
"Fourth step, place the sweetheart's hand on the gear handle and hold it with yours" he explained as he placed our hands on the gear.
"Final step, accelerate the car for your heart is already speeding" he said as he looked at me. I chortled and kissed his cheek. He grew more adorable with each word he spoke.
