I brought together all of the things in my mind that I had to explain Jade. Even under the warm shower, chills ran down my spine to think of messing up. I didn't want to make things worse and I hoped I would endeavour to mend the relationship of the siblings. It didn't matter if the change wasn't huge because true mending is done fragment by fragment.
I allowed all of my worries to flow down my body with the water and disappear into the drain. I wrapped the towel around my body and dried my hair. I wore my navy blue shirt and white pants. I braided my hair and went back to the room. Amarion was yet asleep, it wasn't his body that was tired but his soul. I sat on the edge of the bed and slowly ran my fingers through his hair, an act I had grown endlessly fond of. His closed eyes seemed like a mystery to me for I couldn't know what was happening behind them. Was he in the same dream from last night? Or had it changed? Perhaps, there was no dream, his gaze was on the blank darkness that kept him away from the illusionary world.
I moved my fingers to his jawline. He had grown a shallow beard which made him look more manly. I smiled as I got reminded of the tickling of it on my neck which would make me giggle and he'd stare at me reluctantly, assuming that the kisses were what made me laugh.Whenever I watched him sleep, I felt like a sinner for he was an epitome of an angel, beautiful and innocent.
"Will you stop staring and give me a kiss" Amarion mumbled sleepily and I gasped.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up" I quickly apologised and he furrowed his eyebrows, eyes yet closed.
"Kiss me" he commanded and I giggled.
I glanced his features one last time and pressed my lips on his. He placed his hands on my cheeks and deepened the kiss. I pulled away breathless and he smiled as he looked at me.
"You wouldn't mind kissing me without my teeth brushed?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
"You were supposed to ask that before we kissed" I replied and stuck my tongue out.
"Oops! My mistake. Let's repeat" he said and I giggled.
"Would you kiss me without my teeth brushed?" He questioned and I replied a 'no' playfully.
"You already have crazy" he laughed and I punched him in the chest lightly. I watched as he chuckled, nothing from the night before seemed to be haunting him. And that was how I wanted to see him.
"Hey!" He called as he noticed the change in my eyes.
"You look so adorable when you laugh" I pinched his cheek and he blushed.
"Adorable like a joker?" He joked and I slapped his arm.
"Adorable like an angel" I said and leaned in to kiss his forehead. He took advantage of the opportunity and planted a kiss on my neck.
"You are the queen of this angel" he said as he gently rubbed his thumb on my cheek.
Half of the day passed and I waited for Jade to come home. Amarion hadn't spoken a word about it to me and that made me uneasy. I knew that he hadn't forgotten about it but he was trying to avoid it. Maybe he had talked enough of it to me at night.
Jade had taken the lunch to her room while I was in Lily's room. Amarion had gone out with Julian for some chores and I thought it was my moment to have a rational talk with Jade. I left Lily with her crayons and some drawings I had made for her to fill.
I knocked on the door and Jade opened it. Her expression told that she didn't anticipate my approach.
"What?" She snapped with her arms crossed on her chest.
