The dinner was delicious and we enjoyed it. I saw the completeness of a family in that house for the first time. Amarion talked more often and the awkward silence was no longer there. I was glad that I had endeavoured in restoring Amarion's happiness.
After the dinner, Julian gestured me to stay and dismissed the others. I knew she was curious to know Amarion's answer and I gladly had an answer she wanted. I sat on one of the bar stools, waiting for her to join me. She brought two cups of coffee and placed it on the counter forth us. I sipped from the tasty drink and smiled at her. She smiled back nervously and bit on her lower lip.
"Did he agree?" she asked with concern.
"Yes" I replied and she almost screamed with joy.
I told her that he had named his voice as mine and wouldn't give it to anyone else and I had to ask him to do it for me. She had a beautiful smile on her face as I apprised her the details of our conversation. Her eyes turned watery.
"Are you okay?" I asked and she nodded.
"You both remind me of us" she confessed and I gave her a confused look.
"Amarion's dad, Adam and I were high school sweethearts. But he was an orphan. He lived with his aunt and uncle who were not doing financially well" she told and I grew surprised with the new story she revealed. I nodded for her to go on and she sighed.
"We loved each other madly but like in every love story, there came a twist in ours too. My father didn't approve of Adam. I was from a well to do family and my father had always thought of getting me married to someone of our level. I tried convincing him but he was furious to know that I had fallen in love and that too with a poor guy. It didn't really matter to me if my prince charming came on a horse or on foot, the amount of love he carried in his heart was what mattered to me. But my father was very stubborn and so was I. Like father, like daughter" she continued and I smiled.
"I suggested Adam to run away and come back after an year or so. My father would have to accept us once we were married and had a family. But he rejected my idea and assured me that he would make me his bride with dignity. The next day, he came and explained my father of his love for me and convinced him that he would do anything to have me as his wife. His words moved my father and he decided to agree on one condition that Adam had to prove himself worthy of me" she paused and I listened to her with keen interest.
"Then?" I asked and she beamed.
"Then he worked hard, day and night. He earned money for his college fee and finished his course. He got a job with a salary enough for a couple's expenses but he refused to leave his old uncle and aunt. My father wasn't very pleased with his achievement but when he witnessed his devotion for the family, he agreed for our marriage. We lived in his old house until his uncle passed away. He was broken and blamed himself for being unable to serve his uncle. To overcome the tragedy, he started a small business with his colleague and soon we shifted to a new house with his widow aunt. We spent three years there and his business began to rise. I gave birth to Amarion and our lives turned brighter but his aunt became sick. He served his aunt until she passed away. The town than began haunting him with memories and he wasn't himself. So, we moved here and rented an apartment. But Amarion's birth turned out fortunate for us and the business rose rapidly in the city. Almost every big building contract was Adam's. We earned enough to build this house and we shifted here a week after Jade was born. My father visited us after a month. He was so delighted and regretted how he had thought about Adam in the past. He was so pleased with his work that he offered him a 50% partnership in his publishing business. Since then our miseries left us and Adam became more satisfied with himself. But throughout our hard times, he never failed to make me happy" a happy tear rolled down her cheek and I smiled at her beautiful story.
"Love is a beautiful thing" she said. She seemed lost in memories and so in love with her husband.
"It just happens" I said and she smiled at me.
"Surely" she replied.
"I forgot to tell you but my aunt is feeling better. So, my family will return in two days" I told and her smile appeared to be fading.
"Did you tell Amarion?" She asked in a worried tone.
"No, I didn't get a chance to. He seemed so happy and I didn't feel like making him sad" I confessed and she nodded with empathy.
"I wish you could have stayed for longer" she said with a small smile.
"That's sweet of you" I replied while looking away.
"Thank you Amour" she whispered and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"For?" I asked and she beamed.
"For changing my son's life, for bringing my daughter back, for being a sister to Lily, for bringing happiness, for helping us and for listening to my rambling" she said and giggled.
"No! Don't say this. There is nothing you should thank me for. In fact, I am grateful to you for letting me be with your son" I replied and she kissed on my forehead.
"You're too kind and perfect for my Amarion" she said and I blushed. I had no words for the wonderful woman. She was so sweet and caring. Amarion received all his traits from her.
"And also thank you for giving birth to an angel like Amarion" I replied and she pulled me into a hug.
