The door closed but the window of hope opened. Her words replayed in my mind. "I'll think about it".

I couldn't believe I finally confessed but I cursed myself mentally for being harsh on her. I wasn't able to stand the cruelty she was putting herself into. She was depriving herself from her happiness. Those empty eyes of hers always convey the cracking condition of her soul although she tried her best to veil it. She was confused. She wanted to get accompanied but the fear of losing keeps her back. Her mistrust on fate doesn't allow her to move forward. But I'll change that. I'll give her all that she deserves.

All of a sudden, I heard distant yelling. I decided to approach the source of noise. I left my room and walked straight ahead. The scene I witnessed there startled me.

"You know what? Now I can understand why your ex left you" Jade yelled aggressively. Amour stood facing her. Those words sounded unkind and rose a burning sensation in my chest. What must've Amour felt? Apparently, that was one of the worst things anyone could've said to her. I at once regretted telling Jade about Amour's past. No matter how sweet she becomes, her rude side will never leave.

Ame was frozen. The ice from her past frosted her. All of those big and little things seemed to be repeating in her mind. She didn't speak a word.

"Jade!" I shouted with aggression. Hoping that would keep her mouth shut.

Amour faced me and her lovely eyes flooded with lonely tears. The girl who didn't cry when she told me about her break up was wailing because of those two words. Left you. She glared at me as the teardrops shone in her eyes. The same gaze was sparkling when they reflected the dazzle of the stars. Two new and small skies were formed in her either eyes. More beautiful than the vast azure itself. But now the ether was covered by grey clouds and furious storm.

She looked at me unlike she had before. Her glance was full of disappointment. I broke her trust. I hurt her after I promised that I won't. I did what she feared. Her words echoed in my ears. "He said the same thing".

She looked away from me and I stood speechless. "You don't know why he left me. So, it'll be better if you shut the hell up" she responded Jade. Jade was indeed shocked. Without giving us a second look she descended the stairs. I hung my head in shame. Jade rolled her eyes and crossed her arms on her chest.

"She is a b.." Jade began but I yelled at her "not another word".

"Can't you keep your fangs to yourself?" I questioned her with disgust. She raised her eyebrow at me.

"You just ruined everything" I continued in anger. My veins were about to explode with wrath.

"I? She denied before hand. The fire had already set. I just sprinkled some fuel" she reasoned brazenly.

I punched the wall beside her and hissed "fire and fuel? She said she'll contemplate about this but thanks to you she won't be giving it a second thought". She stepped back frantically. "I didn't know that" she stammered. "That's exactly why you should be keeping your venom inside you. But instead you spit it on her face" I grumbled and blew softly on my bruised knuckles. "Now onwards you ain't interfering in any of my issues" I warned and flared my nostrils. She nodded timidly.

I rushed downstairs leaving a scared Jade behind. Amour emerged from the washroom and approached my mom. She met my parents and hugged Lily. I stared at her with puppy dog eyes but she didn't even acknowledge me. I wanted to know what she was thinking. I willed to find out if the ray of hope existed?

She headed for the exit. I walked to her parents and bid them goodbye. Amour saw me but turned her back towards me. Her long and curly hair hugged her gorgeous body. The blue dress made her look prettier. Granted, there wasn't another word I could say to her. She left the house with her little brother. Her parents followed her.

Dad closed the door and I remained there for a while. Everybody went to their rooms to change. I too retreated to my bedroom.

On the way I passed Jade's room and felt like breaking down the door and punching her in the face. Imagining the scenario brought a small smile on my face.

I opened the door of my room and shut it with a thud. The door of the balcony was unclosed. The gentle breeze made the curtains caper. I removed my tshirt and went into the balcony. The sky had only few stars visible as if most of them were here for Amour. I recalled the way she was moving around and cavorting. The mesmerising reflection of the heavenly bodies in her eyes and the alluring smile on her face made everything more beautiful. But after she was gone, the place felt like a lonely corner filled with melancholy and gloom.

My eyes reached on the guitar. I wondered how often I've started playing since I met her. My singing talent is one thing she loves about me and I heart to play for her. I hope I'll be able to intone in her presence again. I held the instrument in my hand and played a tone my heart composed. I hummed along the melody. It was the first time I played something of my own.

The guitar felt cold against my bare skin. But the warmth of my chest turned into words and escaped from my lips. I closed my eyes and sang with all the feelings I possessed at the moment. The song was a perception of the depth of my endearment for Amour. I played until my fingers and throat felt tired.

I stared at the sky and there wasn't a single star left. The twilight covered the azure. I closed my eyes and Amour's face appeared. I took the guitar with me into the room. I closed the balcony door and rested the instrument on my bed. I laid beside it and stroked the cold surface. Due to exhaustion, I drifted off to sleep with her name on my lips. Amour.

I wasn't sure if it was the ending or the beginning.
