The Con Man

Chapter Seven

Alexander lifted Belle and shut the door close with his foot. Belle’s hands were all over him and his hands were mimicking hers.

Alex laid Belle down on the bed and leaned on top of her. Suddenly Belle’s phone rang through the room. Belle took it out of her pocket and without looking at the screen chucked it across the bed.

She pulled Alex towards herself and kissed him passionately. However her phone started ringing again.

“You should answer that” Alex said as he leaned over her to grab the phone. He handed the phone to Belle.

“It is my dad” Belle said as she answered the call

“Hey dad.” Belle greeted her father.

“I am in your office waiting for you Belle. We are supposed to have lunch today. You forgot?”

Belle mentally cursed herself. Her father had come back from LA this morning and had called the previous night. They had planned to meet up for lunch.

“Yes dad. I will be there in a minute” Belle said

“Your PA is also not present at the reception”

“Uhh…he is gone for the coffee run. I will be there dad.” Belle hung up before her father could ask another question.

“My dad is in my office.” Belle said as she got up and fixed her clothes. She looked up and saw Alex staring at her.

“I will head out” Alex said and left the room.

Belle watched him leave the room. She fell back down on the bed and tried to get her head around what they were just about to do. This man made her loose her mind. She could not think straight when he was around and she had no self control what so ever.

She got up and fixed her hair in the mirror, letting them loose around her shoulder. Her red curls fell down till her waist.

Belle walked out of the room and opened her office door to see her father sitting there.

“My Belle! How are you sweety?” George said as he got up and hugged Belle

“I am fine. How was LA?”

“It was good. Come on now. Let’s go. I am starved.”

Belle nodded and picked up her handbag and walked out with George.

She passed Alex at the reception and he pretended to be busy with a file. Alex watched both of them get on the elevator and leave.

Alex got up and started pacing the lobby. His mind was all over the place. He was suppose to be happy that things were going fast and Isabelle was already throwing herself at him but he felt bad about it, like he was taking advantage of her.

His phone rang and he answered on the first bell. It was Daniel.

“Hey bro! How is the first day at job? How is your boss huh? I heard she is damn sexy” Daniel laughed.

“Shut up Daniel. It is going fine. I haven’t interacted with her much.”

“Okaayy. What happened to you? Why so grumpy huh?”

“I have to go. Talk to you later” Alex said as he cut the call.

Alex started pacing again. He just lied to Daniel about the progress he was making, something he had never done before. Daniel was like a brother to him. He had met Daniel in the final year of high school. They instantly bonded and became best of friends. Daniel’s father had passed away when he was young and his mother had terminal cancer. She also passed away during his senior year and they both moved in together. It was during the first year of college that Daniel came up with this idea of making money and they started out small and reached where they were today. They were the only family to one another.

The elevator dinged and Belle walked out and briskly walked to her office without even looking at Alex. Alex ignored her behavior and started filing paper and shredding the unimportant ones.

An important fax came in and he got up to give it to Belle. He reached her door and was about to knock but it was already open and he could hear Belle on the phone.

“I love you too!” She said in to the phone and Alex frowned.

“Yes. Okay fine but I am going to my place today and not coming over. Please understand. I will see you for dinner tomorrow okay? Yes done. Love you. Bye”

Alex knocked and stepped in.

“Ma’am this document just came in from the deal that was handled this morning.” Alex said as he kept the document on the table and walked out.

Belle didn’t like the awkward situation between them. Alex hadn’t said a word to her since morning. Her phone rang again and it was her mother again. She cut the call and put her phone on silence. Her mother had just called her and tried to convince her to come over again. Belle had spent the last month at her parents’ house and now she wanted to move back into her own place. She however promised her mother a dinner tomorrow night and that pacified her for the time being.

Alex couldn’t understand this feeling within him. He clearly understood from her conversation that she was in a relation with another man though she was not married as per Daniel’s research.

“But she made the first move” Alex thought to himself.  He was beyond confused. She was attracted to him that he knew. Also she was willing to sleep with him but she is also in relation with another man.

“What the hell is going on? She is being unfaithful, not that it matters to me but how will the plan work out?” Alex muttered to himself as he tried to think this through.

“Mr. Knight. I am leaving for the day. You can leave once you are finished filing” Belle said as she came out of her office. She wanted to talk to him and sort this all out but she didn’t even know him for a day.

“But in that less than a day time you gave him your first kiss and almost your virginity” a voice in her head said. Belle shook her head and walked into the elevator without looking at Alex.

“Okay.” Alex said to her retreating back.

Alex finished up the work and packed up to leave.

“I have to fix this up and find out what is going on” Alex thought as he left the office building.
