Next morning...

I was finally able to go home this morning and Emma had seen me trying to pack on my own and she wanted to help even though she should be in bed. For a patient of mine she was being very nice to me and it felt like I had known her for a long time. As we packed my things she began talking.

"Have you told him yet?"

"Not yet. I was going to wait till we got home and then tell him,"

"He seems like a good guy Jen. I'm sure he'll be happy to be a Father,"

"I have that feeling too but I don't want to ruin the friendship we have. We haven't known each other long but we have a strong friendship and we hit it off straight away. He's the only true friend I've made since moving away from home,"

"You're not scared of that. You're scared that he will fall in love with you. You like him I can see that but that actually happening scares you just admit it,"

"Why are you so good at reading people?"

"Years of practise,"

We both giggled and then I saw Cory coming in. He came over to the bed and he sat on the edge as Emma and I stood there packing my things "Who's this?" Cory asked.

"This is Emma. A patient I was looking after the other day,"

"Nice to meet you Emma. How far along are you?"

Emma smiled at Cory "I'm 4 months," she replied.

"I can't wait to have children when I find the right girl,"

I noticed Emma turn to me and smiled softly. She then got up from the chair "I'll leave you too it. Nice to meet you Jen you've been brilliant it's nice seeing you and I hope you get better," she said.

"Thank you Emma and good luck with your baby,"

"Good luck with every thing too,"

When she left Cory looked at me "What does she mean good luck with everything too?" he asked.

"I'm not sure,"

"Want to get going?"

"Yeah,"

I was finally discharged and able to go home. Cory helped me down to his car and when I saw his car I flinched. The last time I was in a car I had an accident and that scared me. I think Cory noticed that I was nervous and he put his hand on my shoulder and rubbed it softly "It will be okay I promise,"

"I know. I just... I'm a bit scared,"

Cory helped me in the car and then he began to drive to my house. It wasn't too far which I was glad about. When in the car he drove slower than normally guessing that I was a bit nervous.

When we got to the house he grabbed my bag and took it in for me and then he helped me inside. I went to the kitchen to make some tea and he ushered me into the living room and then came in with the tea "You cant expect to be able to just do all these things. You aren't well enough yet,"

"Please let me do some things. I am a nurse so I know what's good for me and what isn't,"

"Okay,"

After some silence between us I guessed it was time to tell him that I was going to my Mum's for a few weeks.

"Cory I need to tell you something,"

"What is it?"

"I'm leaving soon. I'm going to stay with my Mum for a few weeks,"
