Unexpected

Chapter 33

The past few days had been a lot to take in. Mum has cancer and it is curable so that's good and she has started her treatment. I found out that I don't have the cancer gene so it was unlikely that I will get breast cancer in the future. The job that Lea applied for she got. She was working at the local high school as a receptionist. She had done something like that back in Australia. As for me well I was taking one day at a time.

Lea and Cory had gone to work this morning and so I was getting ready to go over to Emma's with Evelyn. Both of us having little ones meant it was hard to see each other a lot unlike we could when we were both pregnant. I drove to her house and when I got there I carried Evelyn in and she played on the mat with some toys with the twins.

Emma came back into the room with some coffee and we sat down together "So I'm guessing we need to use this play date excuse more often to see each other,"

"Yeah we do,"

"So how's everyone? I mean last time I saw you...,"

"We got over that and talked. I told him the reason I wanted to go back to work and get some money was to pay for Lea to have an artificial insemination because I know how much she wants a baby,"

"What did Cory say?"

"He suggested that we have a baby for her and he wants to start trying soon,"

"Just be glad of all the fun nights you'll get trying for a baby and all that sex you get to have with your  husband,"

"It's not like that,"

"Don't take it to seriously though or it won't work you've got to be relaxed. Pregnancy is not something that happens easy. Mark and I tried for 4 months before I got pregnant with the twins,"

"And look at Cory and I. A drunken one nights stand,"

"That never happens twice. The first time I got pregnant was after just having sex once,"

"But you've only got the twins,"

"I lost the baby after carrying for 3 months,"

"I'm so sorry. Was Mark the father?"

"Yeah he was. We were both upset,"

"Look Cory and I know it might take a while and I'm going to treat it like I'm just getting to have a lot of sex with Cory,"

"It's the best way. That's what Mark and I did,"

"Talking of Mark how is he?"

"Yeah he's great. We've got some family of his coming down from the east coast for a few days,"

"That will be nice,"

"Yeah it will. It's his sister and brother in law and their little girl Macy,"

"Cute name,"

"I know right. I wanted to name our little one Macy but she beat me too it,"

"I always knew I wanted Evelyn for a girl,"

"Apart from that everything else okay?"

"Mum's got breast cancer,"

"Oh my gosh is she going to be okay?"

"Yeah she will it's curable and she has treatment sorted out and she's started it and I had some tests to see if I had the gene cause my Mum and Gran both have had it now but I don't have the gene which is something else I don't need to worry about now,"

"You know we shouldn't leave things this long we miss out on so much,"

"Yeah we do. Are you sure you're okay you seem slightly upset,"
