Chapter 24

Cory came around the corner looking angry "Cory what's wrong?"

"When were you going to tell me you're pregnant?" he asked holding a pregnancy test which said positive.

"I...,"

"Well," Cory said.

"I'm not pregnant,"

"You're lying,"

"No I'm not,"

"Who's else would this be?"

"Yesterday there were plenty of women in this house that could have been pregnant,"

"But it's yours right?"

"No!"

"I don't believe you. You wouldn't tell me first time around,"

"That's because we weren't together at the time and I was scared,"

"Are you scared now?"

"No because I'm not pregnant. Even if I was I'd tell you,"

"Would you?"

"Yes. Now stop! I'm not pregnant,"

"I still believe you are,"

"I'm not!"

I stood up bringing Evelyn into my arms at the same time. I went to get my shoes on and then I put Evelyn's coat on and grabbed mine. I put my hand on the door and opened it.

"Where are you going?" Cory asked angrily.

"Anywhere but here,"

I walked outside and put Evelyn in her car seat and then I got my car and drove off. I knew where I was going to find out who's pregnancy test it was.

First of all I arrived at Emma's. I knew it was unlikely she was pregnant but might be.

I got Evelyn out of her car seat and walked to Emma's door. I knocked and she answered the door and let us in. I sat on the sofa with her and she looked at me "Something's worrying you. What's wrong?" Emma asked.

"Cory found a pregnant test at home and it was positive and now he thinks I'm pregnant,"

"So you aren't pregnant?"

"No,"

"Who's is it?"

"I was hoping you knew,"

"Mine? No I'm not pregnant, Mark and I are making sure of that,"

"Too much information and okay,"

"Who's do you think it is?"

"Well it's either My Mum's or Cory Mum's,"

"Do you really think it would be your Mum?"

"No I don't. She doesn't love anyone apart from my Dad and sleeping with somebody would feel like she was cheating on him,"

"Looks like Cory's Mum,"

"Yeah,"

"Are you okay really?"

"No. I cant believe Cory would think I would lie to him. Even if I was pregnant I'd tell him,"

"I know it's unfair of him to blame you but imagine what you'd do it was you and you went upstairs and found one?"

"I know but I'd also like to think that he'd know I'd tell him if I was pregnant,"

"Maybe you should go and see Cory's Mum and see what she has to say,"
