8 months later....
I lay on mine and Cory's bed. It was 4pm and I was in bed wanting sleep. I'm 8 months pregnant and not far from my due date. It had been a strange 8 months. Lea had moved out when I was around 5 months pregnant and Cory helped her to do up a nursery. She came to every appointment I had with the midwife and every scan along with Cory.
Emma and I spent a lot of time together and she could see I was really struggling with the fact I was pregnant with a baby I was going to give away once I had given birth to her. That's right. Lea wanted to know the gender and so we found out it was a girl.
In the past 8 months also Evelyn celebrated her 1st birthday. She was starting to talk and say words. Her first word was Dadda. Cory has spent all day with her trying to get her to talk and she finally said it. He was over the moon and so was I to see her growing up.
I had officially got maternity leave again however the hospital knew I would be back at work a few months after giving birth as they knew it wasn't my baby and that I wanted to get back to nursing as I had really missed it.
Cory was downstairs giving me some time to try and get some sleep I was so tired. Evelyn was on a day out with her Nanna. My Mum was feeling so much better and she was still clear of the cancer and we were lucky to spend loads more time with her.
I lay on the bed and felt some sharp pains in my stomach and then felt the bed underneath me feel wet "CORY!" I shouted.
He came running up the stairs and he looked at me "Baby what's wrong?" he asked.
"We need to get to the hospital. I think I'm going into labour,"
He helped me up and we got into the car. He drove us to the hospital and when we got there we went to the maternity ward. We went to a room and the midwife came and hooked me up to all the monitors and then she checked me over. She told me that I was 6cm dilated already.
"This baby is coming quickly," I told Cory.
Cory stroked my hair and looked at me "I've rang Mum. She is on her way. She won't want to miss the birth," he said.
I looked at him "I don't want her in here. I don't want anyone," I said screaming in pain as my next contraction hit.
"Do you want me here?" he asked me.
I felt some tears in my eyes as I hit another contraction "No," I screamed.
Cory took my hand "Baby please. You can't do this on your own,"
"I need to Cory. Please. I'll be fine. You wait with your Mum. She isn't going to be long,".
The midwife came back in and Cory left me with her. I cried in pain every time a contraction hit. She checked again and this time I was 10cm. She smiled at me "Jennifer it's time to start pushing. This girl is in a rush to get here," she said.
I grabbed the sheets below me and began pushing when each contraction hit. As I pushed I could hear the midwife telling me how good I was doing. Soon the head was out. I pushed on the next contraction and she was out. She began crying and the midwife smiled "A baby girl," she said. She brought her to me and smiled "Here you go," she said.
"No I can't. Please take her away," I said.
The midwife nodded and she took the baby to the side and cleaned her up. She then wrapped her in a blanket and put in her the box. They did some checks on her and I lay there tears in my eyes.

Half an hour after she was born Cory and Lea came in. I looked out the window to the corridor and saw Emma outside. She smiled at me and I smiled back. Lea went over to the baby and she smiled "Wow... She's perfect. Jen I don't know how I can thank you for bringing her into the world for me," she said.
