Unexpected

Chapter 4

I finally arrived in the cab at my Mother's house. The house I grew up in. The man got my suitcase out for me and I pulled it to the front door. I saw my Mother open the door and she grabbed my suitcase from me "Let me take that please," she said.

"Thank you Mum,"

We both went inside and she made us some tea. She then looked at me "Right well... Are you going to tell me what is going on Jennifer?"

I looked at her and she smiled gently at me "4 weeks ago Cory and I had a one night stand I'm pregnant,"

"Oh sweetie... Is that what you wanted to tell me?"

"Yeah... He knows though. I was going to tell him when I got out of hospital but he found out before that and then he got angry and just as I was leaving to come here he text me saying he forgives me,"

"At least he knows and he forgives you. He's a good boy and you are going to make a good couple,"

"We aren't together Mum,"

"You should be,"

"I don't think he likes me like that,"

"Are you really sure about that?"

After talking to my Mum it made me realise that maybe a part of what she said was right. I went upstairs to my old bedroom and looked around the room. A few of my photos were still here.

Time went on and I noticed it was 7:00pm. I heard my Mother shout to say dinner was ready. I went downstairs and sat down at the table to eat pasta. The pasta was really good but then my Mum was really good at cooking.

"So I guess you are keeping the baby?" My Mother asked.

"Yeah... To be honest I don't know how I could even consider getting rid of him or her,"

"I was the same with you. I had you when I was your age and I knew I had to have you,"

Mum was a single parent. My Dad died when I was little and I went away to medical school I didn't want to leave her but she persuaded me to go and she said she would be fine. She had her friends and she had her sisters around.

"How long are you planning on staying?" My Mother asked me.

"Just a week or so while I recover,"

"How are you feeling?"

"I am stiff and in pain a little but I feel okay apart from that,"

I took my pain killers and then I went up to bed and changed into my PJ's. Once I was done I got into bed and heard my phone going off. I grabbed my phone and I saw Cory's name. I opened the text up and read it.

Hi. I hope you got to your Mother's safely. When you get home we can talk about things. I really am sorry for reacting badly before. You are my best friend and I shouldn't have reacted the way I did. I understand why you did what you did. I really should known that after knowing you all this time. Anyway have a good time with your Mum. I'll see you soon. Cory xx

His text made me smile and I then put my phone down and I lay down on my bed and then fell asleep.

4 days later...

It was 3:00pm and I had just got home from doing some shopping. I needed some new maternity wear ready for when I got a bit bigger. I arrived home at my Mother's and kept put my stuff into a suitcase. I felt a bit sick and so I went to the bathroom. They called it morning sickness but it happens any time of day. After being sick I went back to my bedroom and I finished putting some stuff away. In a week I was going back home to see Cory and we could talk. I wanted to rush some now and speak to him but I liked being with my Mum.
