Unexpected

Chapter 14

3 weeks later...

I walked into the house with the baby girl in my arms and saw my Dad sat with Cory and they were talking. My Mother was coming into the living room with a tray of tea for us all. They all smiled at me apart from my Father who stood up and looked at me "Where the hell have you been?" he asked me.

"I took the little girl out for a walk,"

"You're stupid. She needs to stay in the warmth and not in the cold,"

"She was wrapped up,"

"I don't care this is my granddaughter and you need to take better care of her,"

"I am,"

"You're not,"

"Dad I am,"

"Don't call me Dad. I'm leaving and until you can prove you can take of her I'm not coming back,"

I began crying as my Father left and then I put the little girl down in her cot and then fell to the floor.

"JEN!" Cory shouted.

My eyes flickered open and I began to feel how wet my face was "What's going on?" I asked.

"You began crying and shouting so I woke you up. Are you okay?"

"I don't know,"

"What was your bad dream about?"

"My Dad was at our house and he didn't like it because I took our baby out and he then left and told me not to bother talking to him until I proved I could look after her. It was like losing him,"

"I'm sure your Dad would happy to be a Grandfather is he was here and he would support and help us,"

"I hope so,"

"I'm sure he would,"

Cory cuddled me close to him and we lay in bed together for a while. He began to rub my stomach and he smiled "You know we get to find out if we are having a little boy or girl today," he said.

"I think it's a girl. I have this feeling because in my dreams I always see a girl,"

"Let's wait and see,"

I got out of bed and went to get changed. Once I was changed I saw the bed empty and went downstairs to see Cory cooking breakfast "You're so good to me,"

"I know but I love to cook for you,"

Both of us sat down to eat our breakfast. I wanted to eat and then I was excited about having the scan. I was going to work and in my lunch break I was popping to see Emma at home. Her babies were so cute and they were 3 weeks old.

After we both finished eating I grabbed my stuff and we got into his car and we drove to the hospital ready for the scan.

When we arrived at the hospital I booked myself in.

"Jennifer Harper," I heard a nurse call.

I got up and Cory held my hand "Let's do this," he said.

Both of us walked in together and I got on the bed. The nurse did the scan and smiled at us "Well everything seems normal and the baby seems healthy. I can also see what the gender is. Would you like to know?" she asked

I smiled at Cory and then turned to the nurse "Yes please,"

"Well congratulations you are having a baby girl,"
