Unexpected

Chapter 6

I woke early in morning ready for work. First I decided to have breakfast and then get changed. I went downstairs and I got myself breakfast. I was feeling a bit sick and so I didn't have much for breakfast. Then I never really ate much anyway. I finished getting myself ready for work and then heard a knock at the door. It was time for me to leave for work so I grabbed my things and opened the door. I saw Matt stood there "Matt... Hi,"

"Hi Jen. I thought you might like a lift to work. I see we are working the same hours,"

"That would be great thank you,"

I got into his car and he drove us to work. When we arrived we walked in together and then I went to the lockers to put my stuff away. Once I was done I went to the nurses room and made myself a cup of tea. I had another 10 minutes yet before I actually started work. When I was making my tea I heard the door. I never expected to hear anyone coming in. I turned around and Cory was stood there.

"How was your outing last night?" he asked me.

"It was good thanks,"

"You going to see him again?"

"Why does that matter?"

"Jen you are pregnant with my baby you cant just go out all the time. I need to look after you to make sure everything is okay with the baby,"

"I don't need baby sitting. You seriously have issues with me going out don't you?"

"No,"

"Obviously you do otherwise you wouldn't mind me going out,"

"I have issues with you going out with guys,"

"Why?"

"Does it matter?"

"Yes obviously it does if you are making a big deal out of it,"

"I just.. I don't want you going out with him,"

"Get out Cory!" I shouted.

"Excuse me,"

"Get out!"

Cory began walking out and then I made my tea and took it with my to the nurses station to grab my files. I finished drinking the tea and got to work. I loved my work so much. I spent a lot of time talking to my patients and that took my mind off things that were going on. It wasn't a long shift today and it was 4pm. I was finishing early and so I went home.

I walked myself home and then I decided on a tidy up. I hadn't had chance for much housework recently so I went around the house and I did some tidying up.

About an hour later I went to the bathroom and noticed I was bleeding. Right now I couldn't figure out why. Being a nurse I had looked at these things but it all went out of my mind and I went into a panic. I called Cory and waited for him to answer.

Cory: Hello.

Jen: Hi Cory.

Cory: Are you okay? I'm sorry about earlier.

Jen: It's fine.

Cory: What's wrong you sound scared?

Jen: I need you to take me to the hospital. I'm bleeding and I don't know why.

Cory: I'll be right there. Sit tight okay.

He put the phone down and then I got my phone and keys and waited outside for him. When he finally arrived I got in his car and he drove me to the hospital. We walked inside and Matt walked towards us "Jen... You okay?"
