Unexpected

Chapter 25

I woke in the morning hopeful of seeing Lea today to make sure she was okay and that her and Harry has talked things through. Cory had got up in the night seeing to Evelyn and so I woke up to do the morning feed. I went downstairs with Evelyn and then put her down in her cot in the living room while I went to get her feed.

Once she was fed I went upstairs to change her and then we both went to the living room to wait for Cory to get up. I rang Lea to make sure she was okay.

Me: Hi Lea it's me.

Lea: Hi sweetheart. Is everything okay?

Me: It's fine I was just worrying about you.

Lea: I'm scared. Harry and I talked last night and we decided to maybe get rid of the baby as it would be in the best interest for everyone.

Me: Is it what you want?

Lea: I don't know Jennifer.

Me: You need to decide. I know it might seem scary being pregnant but it was how I felt at first and now my life is perfect. I wouldn't be without my baby girl.

Lea: But you had Cory to support you and you still have him.

Me: You've got Harry.

Lea: He doesn't want the baby. He likes the fact Cory is older now there's  no hard work and he likes going to work and having a good nights sleep.

Me: Still it's your baby and the baby is in your body.

Lea: Yeah I'll have a think. Maybe I'll swing by later and see my favourite granddaughter and daughter in law.

Me: Okay. Take care.

Lea: You too.

When I put the phone down I saw Cory behind me "Who was that?" he asked.

"How much of that conversation did you here?"

"Most of it,"

"Then I cant tell you,"

"Come on it's not that bad just tell me,"

"I wont do that to her,"

"Fine then keep secrets to yourself which we promised when we got married we wouldn't do that,"

"Look I'm sorry Cory but she doesn't want anyone to know. I value her and I know how scared she is right now. She doesn't know what she wants to do and I know how much of a scary place that is to be. That was me when I first got pregnant,"

"Okay,"

"Last night you were fine with this,"

"I was but I hate you keeping secrets,"

"I know you and I hate keeping things from you but she's so scared Cory,"

"I understand that,"

I went to the kitchen and got some breakfast on cooking. I was still on maternity leave and Cory was still on leave too. I made pancakes and then put them on the table. Cory walked in with Evelyn and put her in the cot she had near the table. We both ate together and then he looked at me "What are you doing today?" he asked.

"Well just hang here with Evelyn and you know if you need to go to back to work then I understand,"

"I have another week off,"

"Okay. We'll I'm going to have a shower and get changed,"

"I wish I could join you,"

"So do I,"
