After the assembly is over, Tris and I leave the greenhouse, trying our bests not to bump into anyone.

Once we are back inside of the compound, Tris steers me in the direction of her room.

Before she goes in, she turns towards me. "We won't last long here."

"I know we won't."

And with that, she goes into her room and closes the door, and I'm left standing outside her door, wondering why she's shutting me out.

She's not shutting you out. She just needs some time! My conscious tells me.

But even so, it still seems like it.

When I get back to my room, I last back on the bed and my body relaxes. I'm thankful for the rest. I don't think I've even slept for almost ten hours.

But I guess sleep is too much to ask, because sure enough, the second I try and catch some shut eye, a knock sounds at the door.

Crap. I say to myself, swinging my legs around the side of the bed.

When I open the door, my face falls.

It's Caleb.

I had been hoping for Tris, but I suppose that's too much to hope for too.

"What do you want?" I ask him with a cold stare. I don't have to be nice to him; I owe him nothing.

He holds up his hand in mock surrender. "I just came to talk."

I contemplate this for a second, predicting what he may want to talk about. Do I really cares about what he has to say?

Aw, what the heck.

I motion him inside and instruct him to close the door behind him.

"So talk." I say, my voice emotionless.

"I think you're too old to be with my sister." He says, making sure he keeps a safe distance. He tries to hide it, he's obviously intimidated by me.

"Well frankly, I don't care what you think. I love Tris and I'd never hurt her in any way." Not that I need his approval.

He eyes me warily. "How did you guys meet anyway?"

"In Dauntless Initiation."

"What do you do in Dauntless Initiation?"

"Well, we help people become braver by pushing their limits and helping them overcome their fears. Sometimes we do this through sparring, knife throwing-" He cuts me off.

"What?! Knife throwing?! At what?"

"Targets, mostly." I say, remembering with delight how brave Tris fared when I had to throw knives at her head.

"So you just throw the knife at the bull's eye?"

"Pretty much, yeah."

"I don't believe you. Show me." He says, folding his arms.

"Well I don't exactly have a knife on me."

"Alright then, I'll be right back." Then Caleb leaves my room.

I stare at the door wondering if he used this as am excuse just to get away and if he's actually coming back or not.

But just then, he comes back in and hands me one of the butter knives from the kitchen.

"Where the he!! did you get that?!"

"It doesn't matter." He hands me a block of cheese that I didn't see in him holding. "I want you to throw the knife at the cheese."

I resist the urge to laugh and set the cheese on the dresser. I then stand back, aim with the knife, and throw.

It shoots right into the block of cheese, knocking it off of the dresser.

I hold back a laugh when I see Caleb's dumbfounded face.

"Let me try." He practically snatches the knife out of my hands. When he does, he picks up the cheese and sets it back on the dresser.

Then he throws.

He misses by a long shot right before looking at the doorstep.

"This guy is a prodigy! Can you do this too?" He asks.

I follow his eyes and find that Tris is standing in the door way.
