Lol yup, I listen to Hamilton too! Hence the name of the chapter a few pages before this, who lives, who dies. Lol.. The Reynolds Pamphlet is by far my favorite.

And if your were wondering why I haven't updated, I went to a book convention yesterday called Bookcon and I had tons of fun! I met so many authors and booktubers! I'll be putting my vlog on one of these chapters in the future.

I look up at my father's pleading face. He's begging me to forgive him.

And then I realize.

We've switched roles.

Years ago, in that Abnegation house with me on the floor and him towering above me with his belt in hand, I begged him to leave me alone, told him I'd never slip up again, that I'd never speak our again.

But now he's the one begging.

The one at my mercy.

And I'm not ready to get rid of the feeling of authority I have over him.

"No, Dad. You can't just come in here after all you've done and expect me to forgive you. I'm not ready yet." At least in honest with him.

He adverts my eyes. "Thank you for your honesty." He says.

And then he leaves.

It is only after he's gone that I wince.

He sounds like the Candor.

I've been laying in bed trying to calm my thoughts for about an hour. Every time I try and dismiss a thought another one slithers in.

Sleep must hate me.

I'm sure it's well into the night by now. I went to dinner not too long ago, so I'm sure most people are asleep by now.

I stay stay in bed and try to fall asleep for a few more minutes before I give up and start putting my shoes on. Perhaps I need to see Tris.

Just as I'm lacing up my right boot, I hear someone scream in the distance.

Without another thought I get up and run into the hallway.

It's vacant, but I can hear frantic footsteps from the other side of Dauntless.

Something is wrong.

I take off running as fast as I can in the direction of the footsteps, and by the time I reach the area where everyone has gathered, I'm majorly out of breath.

But when I analyze what's happening, my breath leaves me body.

Marlene, Hector - Lynn's brother - and another Dauntless girl are standing over the chasm, slowly walking to the edge. Their movements are simultaneous.

Their lips are moving but I can't make out what they're saying. Tris and Christina are up there with them, listening I'm shock it looks like to whatever it is they're saying.

They're getting closer and closer to the edge and Christina and Tris don't seem to be moving any time soon.

Until they start walking faster, that is.

They're a step away from the edge when they rush out and grab Hector and the other girl.

But no one grabs Marlene.

We all helplessly watch as she plunges to her death at the bottom of the chasm.
