Abnegation

We've been running for a little over 15 minutes trying to beat the train and I'm already panting.

All of those restless days I didn't eat are catching up to me.

At last, when I feel like I can't go on any longer, the train shoots by us. I'm quick to jump on and open the door. I then step back and sit against the wall, trying to catch my breath.

Tris and Peter come in soon after me without any help at all. Tris sees me sitting on the floor almost instantly and comes over to sit next to me.

But right when she's about to sit down, someone comes out of no where and tackles her to the ground.

I'm on my feet faster than humanly possible and ripping the attacker from off of Tris in even less time. No one is allowed to touch her in any way shape or form besides me. Especially not right after her near death experience.

After I have his jacket in my grip, I slam him against the wall of the train and move very close to his face.

"Who the he!! are you?" I hiss.

He doesn't look the slightest bit intimidated. In fact, he's smirking, like he thinks this is funny.

I'll show him something funny.

Before he can move out of the way, I punch him square in the jaw.

His head snaps to the side and when he looks back at me a bruise has already began forming.

Now I'm the one smirking.

"I asked you a question." I say.

He glares at me for several seconds before, "Did you miss us?"

But it's not him who says it.

Knocking him to the side, I turn towards the unknown voice.

I suck in a breath.

It's Evelyn.

It's my mother.

I scowl. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to thank you for ratting out all of our Divergent." She says smugly.

I stare at the ground. "I did what I had to do." For Tris.

"Well fortunately, what you did doesn't matter, because we've moved all of them to Abnegation. In fact, most of Dauntless has agreed to go help guard them there, so if that was where you were headed, you might be surprised to find most of your friends gone."

I clinch my fists. "So what you're telling me is, you somehow persuaded Dauntless to go to an entirely different Faction - without one of their leaders - and not only that, but they're there to protect the Divergent you are interested in?!" I'm almost screaming now. How dare she march into my Faction while I'm gone and get them to fight for her.

"Tobias, my offer still stands. I would love to fight alongside you. I think you'd be a great asset to my team."

I snort.

"Suit yourself. I'll always be here though." And with that, her and her assistant jump right off the train.

Without remembering that she was a twisted woman with no morals I run to the open door and try and pinpoint where they jumped off at, but there's no one there.

I do however see Abnegation coming up in the distance.

Not even taking into account the fact that Evelyn might have been lying about everything, I say, "Get ready to jump." to Peter and Tris.
