Chapter 48 - Time Heals

(Wednesday Morning 10:45am)

Today was moving day. There was so much to do, we had to start in the morning. I packed everything that was my parents into a box and placed them in the basement. I had to make the house more of what I like and also what Itachi liked. Even though he did say he didn't care, still, I had to put some touch to of him there. Ino, Hinata, Tenten an Karin came along to help. "So this is Sakura's place. I swear, I always imagine you living in a apartment or something". Karin said as she enter the house. "Yea! So did I". Tenten looked around as they were both amazed. "Are you sure you want to do this? I mean, it's great and all but don't you feel... Weird". Ino said as she help Sakura out with the box. "There's nothing I can do. I mean. Now that my parents are gone... The only thing I have is my parents will. And I'm trying to really make that last. I'm going to get a job and also try to finish school". Sakura packed photo's of her parents and left only one. "Yea... But medical school takes a while. I mean... Becoming a doctor will take years..." Ino worried. "I know, but I'm thinking of changing my major Into social worker. I mean, my parents would alway tell me what to do and what not to do". Ino smiled as she felt happy for Sakura.

The doorbell ring. It was Naruto, Shikamaru and Neji. Shikamaru noticed Ino as she noticed him. Both looked away sadly. "This is Sakura's place? It's amazing!" Naruto continue to gaze around the house. "I feel like I'm royalty" Naruto gazed at the sparkly chandelier. "Hmp, you should come over my place, it's defiantly a mansion". Neji conceded self came out. "Did you forget? I was there". Naruto said. Tenten pulled neji's ear lob. "Anyways. Where do you want to begin?" Tenten asked. "Ok. TenTen and Neji, can you take out certain things in the kitchen and put them into these boxes". She handed them the box. Naruto and Hinata, Shikamaru and Ino. Can you removed all these photos into a box an take out some stuff". Karin, you can come with me and help me at my parents room". Everyone split. As Sakura and Karin went up, Karin started to worry about Sakura. "Sakura... Are you ok?" They open Her parents room and turn the lights. "Yea.. I'm ok... Sakura gently open the closet an took the close out and fold them into the box. Karin help. "You seem happy but I know that's a front. I know that front all to well..." Karin packed the items that were on top of the dresser.

Sakura started to tear as it pain her to have lost her parents so fast. "I'm sad... That they're gone... But. What can I do? I can't sit around a moor everyday... I can't let my future go down..." Karin looked at her surprised. She never knew Sakura was so brave and wise. "Your doing a good job. Heck, better than me when my parents died..." Karin continue packing. "I'm sorry for your lost". Sakura looked down. "MY LOST?!" Karin laugh. "More like sorry for your lost. They died when I was 6 years old. So it's no biggy". Karin laugh a bit as Sakura smiled. "I cried for months and months... I became sick after a while and had to be home schooled all my middle school years. But your different... After everything that happen with me, Kabuto, your memories... And now your parents, I'm surprise you still have your head up". Karin closed the box. Sakura thought to herself. "Yea..." She smiled. "So. Are you guys getting Married? Are you pregnant?! Is one of those the reason why he's moving in?" Karin asked. "No! He wants to protect me... And help me... Since he's older he can move out. I had space here an since he works, he gets paid to. He offered to pay the bills and stuff. So I guess is ok". Sakura blushed "Aw! I'm glad he's protecting you an actually likes you. But what about Sasuke?" "...he.... Treated me bad. Controlling and mean... I couldn't be with someone like that..." Sakura continue to pack. "I understand. Don't ever take shit from any guy. Guys are dogs". "True that!" They both laugh.

(Living room)

Naruto and Hinata noticed that Shikamaru and Ino weren't talking at all. "Naruto. Ino still likes Shikamaru... We should somehow get to like each other". Hinata whispered. "Right. I know exactly what to do". Naruto turn around and began packing the boxes. "So Ino, how's the song coming along, are you almost done?" "Wait how you knew I was singing?" Ino asked than looked at Hinata, Hinata quickly turn around. "Oh... Well, not yet. It's almost done". Ino tried not to show her face to Shikamaru. "Maybe Shikamaru can help you". Naruto suggested. "It's ok". Shikamaru looked at her from the corner of his eyes. He looked down at the boxes. Hinata elbow Naruto, bringing him to the kitchen. "So. What's the song about". Shikamaru tap the box. Ino didn't respond. "Are you going to ignore me now? Don't forget you broke up with me. I should be the one ignoring you". He said in a annoyed attitude. "Than ignore me". Ino said in attitude. Shikamaru grab her arm and pulled her close. Ino tried to get off but was to weak. "Shikamarget off". She looked at him angry. "Tell me, what did I do that made you break up with me?" Shikamaru looked at her sad. Her heart sank as she saw his sad face. "I... Don't want to talk about it..." She looked away trying to hide her tears. "Ino. I know your pride is holding you back... But I deserve answers too..." Shikamaru lock fingers with her. She whipped her tears away.

"You ignored me when you were out of state. You didn't message me and you didn't pick up you phone when I text and called. An since you came back, you haven't messages me or anything. You avoid me!" Ino said in a high tone. Shikamaru sighs and smiled. "Ino. I would never ignore you. You mean more to me than my guitar. The reason why I left was because other countries didn't have service for my phone. I even accidentally drop my phone in water so I didn't have any phone..." Ino look down feel bad for breaking up. "That's your problem. You don't wait and you always assume things. You have to stop that". "I know... I'm sorry". She look at him. He smiled at her. "Can I come by later?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close. "Mhm" she agreed.

"HEY! CHOP CHOP!!! Don't have sex in my living room!" Sakura walked down her stairs with boxes. Shikamaru let go of Ino as they both blushed and continued boxing. Hinata and Naruto smiled as they gave the ok sigh to Sakura, that Ino and Shikamaru were ok like they planned. Sakura smiled.

( Later that day/4:55pm)

Sakura looked around the house as most of what reminded about her parents were packed away. Her parents room was now her room and her room was a guest room for those who would come sleep over. Sakura sat on her kitchen table eating fruits in a can. The house was quiet as you can hear water drops falling down the kitchen sink. The house felt a bit empty as it was no one but her and Itachi living in the same roof. As she waited for Itachi to come home, she began to tear. She let it all out and covered her face.
