John's Blog:

I know that it's been a long time since I've updated, but the truth of this was too hard to bear. Sherlock hasn't been taking any cases, not in a year and a half, because he was looking after his daughter. I am not allowed to write too much here, just that Mr Sherlock Holmes would appreciate you all ignoring him on the streets, not asking where his cheetah fast Sarah Jane Tate is, as there have been no new videos of her running through London like a bird soaring high.

Currently, their life is raising his little girl, Khalilah Melody Holmes. She's going to be two this spring, and although she is so, so tiny, her blue eyes are so big, and her blonde hair already so long that she hides behind it shyly as her mother does. No photo's of Sarah Jane have ever been shown, not even on the videos she posts, and the media was never fast enough to snatch a photo, but now?

She's walking through the city with a pram and a coffee with Sherlock, but please, please, do not approach. Sherlock will not take it lightly, because he wants his daughter to have a chance at a good life, and after SJ's difficult time after birth, she's a different person. More than you'd know.

Birdy:

"Welcome, Birdy, John, Mary, Khalilah and baby I still can't remember the name of, to Somerset." Sherlock smiled, helping me off the train as I held the little girl I had legally adopted. 20 years old, I had a boyfriend twice my age, and a daughter he'd had with his ex who died. My life was so weird since I'd moved into 221C. "Want some help there, Birdy?"

I shook my head, Khalilah not actually very heavy given she was so small for her age, but I also had Sherlock holding an umbrella over our heads, as well as John doing the same for them. Our prams were in the luggage hold, so we had to carry the babes. Though theirs was 4, we just couldn't remember her name, ever. "I'm good, love. She's asleep, anyway. Kali got all into looking out the window, she fell asleep against it as you went to get us some drinks."

He laughed a little, kissing our daughters soft blonde hair before pecking my own lips, making my heart flutter. "That, is a story for when we meet her first boyfriend when she's older. Lets get a cab, get the kids out of the rain."

When wasn't it raining? Just recently, there were storms all the time, and I always whimpered at every bang of thunder, every crack of lightening across the sky, like I could hear it thinking off all the things that it wanted to do, all the fires it wanted to start. But that was mad, there was no such thing as a sentient storm, and there was no way in hell I could hear thoughts.

We got to the hotel, placing Kali down onto the small single bed as she slept, still cuddling her little guard as we called the Palace man with the big bushy helmets. We still didn't know where that appeared from, to be honest. "Shall we go see how the other two are doing?" Sherlock asked me, leaving his phone on baby monitor mode, meaning if she woke up it would feed back through into my phone. "From what I've heard, there's a very nice fish and chip shop nearby, and they'd do mushy peas for Lilah."

"Sounds good." I smiled at him, wrapping my arms around his neck, having to stand on my tip toes to be able to do so. The troubles of being 4ft 11. And a half. Why couldn't I have grown that extra half an inch and be 5 ft? Because this was just annoying, being so tiny, and having my Sherlock 12.5 inches taller than me. Just over a foot. "You are so god damn tall."

"No, you're just so tiny." He smiled down at me before pushing me down onto the bed, landing on top of me. "My tiny little bird. My Raven."

Oh, you were so amazing... "My butterfly. What happened to going for dinner?"

He raised an eyebrow, his sharp cheekbones now very close to my own as he kissed at my neck. "Are you hungry?"

"A little, but I'm not sure it's for food..." I sighed contentedly as he moved his lips up, kissing hard at my pulse, making it thrum as though there were two of them. "Mmm, you're very good at that..."
