Dean:
Having the Angel who ignored and betrayed us for a few months in the same room as the Archangel who's hearts I broke, was not good. What was also not good, was the fact that I had no idea how to cure a demon or what we were curing the demon of. "Please tell me that's everything." Sam pleaded as I put yet another box of things onto the table.
"Yeah." I laughed, shaking my head. "No, not even close. You see, the Men of Letters kept files on every demonic possession for the last 300 years, I mean, we've got Borden, Lizzy, all the way to Crane, Ichabod."
Khalilah walked in then, with a bag full of research food components, ready to start cooking. Her, plus a fully stocked kitchen, possibly the best thing ever. Though it was something to be cherished, as she was going the moment that we got back Suzy, because she would be thrown out the moment we closed the gates of hell. And good on her, she deserved so much better than me. "Isn't he from Sleepy Hollow? Oh,by the way, Nikki Reed in that, best thing to happen, but you guys wouldn't know yet."
Sam shook his head at her. "You are such a nerd."
She stuck her tongue out before taking his temperature. "How you feeling?"
"Honestly, um... My, uh, my whole body hurts. I feel nauseous and like I'm starving at the same time, and everything smells like rotting meat."
"I've had that hangover. Jaeger, man, cut with heroin." She shuddered, and I sighed. I did that to her, made her that addict. "Maybe you should, uh, take a break, get some air. "
My little brother refused, as usual. Trust me, I'd already tried. "Kali, the only thing that's gonna make me feel better is finishing this."
"All right. Well, I'll go help Khalilah get you some grub, keep your strength up."
Then we headed out, and I made her give me the bag as she bumped into her brother. "Oh, hey, Sweetie, you sure that you should be up? I dressed your wounds as best I could."
"I'm fine, sister, your medical capabilities are very good and I trust you. Morning." I brushed him off, going to walk past, and he looked hurt. Good, you son of a bitch. But I also wanted to hear what he wanted to say, so I paused in the corridor, waiting for the chef of the bunker. "I like this bunker. It's orderly."
"Oh, give us a few months." Sam told him from the drawing room. "Dean wants to get a ping-pong table. And Khalilah's setting up a proper gym, and a UV garden, because she doesn't trust shop bought food after the Levi's."
"I've heard of that. It's a game, right?"
Then he groaned and Khalilah straight away started to check him over. "Are you okay?" Sammy asked him.
"My wound isn't healing as quickly as I'd hoped, even with Khalilahs medical treatment... But I am getting better. And you're getting worse."
"Well, two trials down, one to go."
He paused for a moment, like he was considering him. "And the final test, do you -- you know what it is?"
My brother answered without hesitation, like we could still trust him. "I have to cure a Demon."
"Of what?" Which made him laugh as Kali pulled a chair out for him.
Sam sighed a little as I gave up with waiting so just pulled out my own junk food from inside the bag and some beer. "That's what we're trying to figure out."
I walked back in with it. "Soup will be on when Kali starts cooking instead of treating the other immortal in the room." Then I sipped a still open beer. "I think this is, uh... Oh, it's still good."
