Dean:

Khalilah was... Khalilah was different. I'd never met anyone like her before, and something told me that I never could meet anyone else like her. So young, yet at times, her eyes looked old, while she also acted so young. Kali was young, beautiful, and deadly. And she was definitely keeping something very important from us.

"Now how many razor blades did they find?" She asked, looking sweetly perfect in her leather jacket, and skirt suit.

Mrs Wallace, grieving her now dead husband, sniffed, near tears. "Two on the floor, one in his stomach and one was stuck in his throat. He swallowed four of them. How is that even possible?" I was looking around the stove and carefully opened the door. "The candy was never in the oven."

Yeah, but something else could have been. "We just have to be thorough, Mrs. Wallace."

"Did the police find any razors in the rest of the candy?" Sam asked as she started to take notes, writing in some weird circles. What language was that supposed to be?

"No, I mean, I don't think so." She shook her head, near tears as Kali stroked her shoulder carefully. "I just – I can't believe it. You hear urban legends about this stuff, but it actually happens?"

Yup. "More than you might imagine." And then I found something that really worried me, showing both Sam and our new friend, making sure the woman couldn't see it. "Mrs. Wallace, did Luke have any enemies?"

She stared at him at the same time as Kali did. "Enemies?"

"Anyone who might have held a grudge against him?" He clarified.

Mrs Wallace frowned in confusion. "What do you mean?"

"Co-workers? Neighbors? Maybe a woman." And now Khalilah was really staring at him, but her eyes were slightly glazed, her hair blocking them from my view.

"Are you suggesting an affair?" The woman asked incredulously.

Our blonde friend shrugged, suddenly snapping out of her little daydream. "Is it possible?"

She shook her head quickly. "No! No, Luke would nev–"

"I'm very sorry." Kali sighed, tucking those blonde curls behind her ears carefully. "We just have to consider all possibilities."

"If someone wanted to kill my husband, don't you think they'd find a better way than a razor in a piece of candy he might eat?"  We all just raised eyebrows at each other.

We went back to the motel, Khalilah doing chin ups on the door with Sam was on the couch, looking at his laptop, books scattered around on the table as I walked in, almost into her. "OK, now that is a nice welcome, good muscle tone, Kali."

She dropped down, stuck her middle finger up at me, before nibbling at a cookie, helping Sam read through some books, but her legs were still bouncing up and down. Kali could never sit still, she had ADHD or something. "Been working out since I was about 6." She stared at me as I picked up a piece of candy and threw it into my mouth.  "Really? After that guy choked down all those razor blades eating the sweets?" What were sweets?

"It's Halloween, man."

"A, She's a girl, and B, for us every day is Halloween."

So I sat down next to her on the arm of the couch, looking at their research. "Don't be a downer. Anything interesting?"

Sam nodded. "Well, we're on a witch hunt, that's for sure, but this isn't your typical hex bag."

He indicated the hex bag was now open on the table, a piece of silver like a coin and something charred and organic, and a dried up flower. "Hmm, no?"
