Dean:

"You made the right choice, Dean." Sam told me as we finished setting up her up in the dungeon, an iv drip of both supplements and valerian to keep her down in her hand as she just lay there, looking more peaceful that I had seen her in months. "She would have wanted you to do that, so she knew that you and Ais were safe."

"Yeah." I nodded, looking at the way her hair fanned out behind her, trickling down the end of the bed like a waterfall of icy blonde. "But it doesn't hurt any less to be told that."

Then I turned and started to walk out of the door, Ria trotting after me, whining softly. She was really suffering, stuck in that form. But we didn't know what we had to do with anything regarding the curse she was under, so we couldn't find out what she was supposed to admit. Sam was following, looking at Kali's tablet that he'd hijacked. It didn't matter if we used it now, she was born in only a few months, so we were up to date with nearly everything that she knew. Strange, how we met her nearly 10 years ago, and we still hadn't reached the year she'd left from. Time travel really made my head hurt.

"Did you catch us a case?"

He shook his head, smirking at something. "Uh, no. Get this." Take a shot people, he said it again. "Some dude took a picture of a weasel riding a flying woodpecker. Midair. It's kinda nuts."

Fascinating. "So, I'm guessing there's nothing on the Amara meter either. Aisling, breakfast!"

She called back to say she'd be there in a minute, which meant she was either in the middle of getting dressed, or about to play with something that she shouldn't. There was no in between for my daughter, because, well, she was my daughter. But Ria yipped softly, and headed off to make sure she wasn't up to no good. "I'm starting to think that God's psycho sister has gone to ground, because her biggest weapon is now out of play and hidden. What about you, you hear from Cas and Suze?"

Beyond the fact that they were the longest running and cutest couple out of us right now? Not like it was hard anymore, given that Ria was a dog, and Kali was currently in an induced coma. "No. He said they were working on something to draw her out, but... it's been radio silence since they was here after that ball they went to."

"Yeah." My little brother nodded as I grabbed my take out, something I sent Ria to get. Dogs were surprisingly good at stealing things, who knew? "All this quiet's starting to wake me up. What the hell is that?"

"That?" I asked him, looking at the beautiful burger in front of me. "That's the Elvis."

Sam stared at it. "Elvis?" I made a noise of agreement and he reached out to touch it. "Is that a - ?"

Oh yes. "That's a glazed donut. Two, actually. One topside, one on the bottom. Now, your inferior versions, they'll just take one donut, split it right down the middle. Mmm mm. Boom!"

"Alright, well uh, I hope you enjoy it. Wow."

Were you dissing my burger? "You know there are starving children out there."

"Dude, I'm not gonna survive hundreds of monster attacks to get flatlined by some double donut monstrosity. Your wife is going to wake up one day to know you're 30 stone and diabetic."

Oh, come on, that wasn't fair. Chances were, I wouldn't be here when she woke up anyway, not like we had a chance in hell at this. "The Elvis! Aisling! Ria! Come on, porridge is getting cold!"

At which point my phone started to ring as my daughter came in on the back of Ria, giggling before I lifted her into her little high chair so that she could start eating her porridge and drink her lukewarm tea. She seemed to think that she should drink what her mommy did. "Whatever!" Ria yipped, sitting on the spare chair, and he nodded. "She wants to know how many calories are in that thing?"
