???

Sitting with my family, I closed the book as the sun started to set over the deep blue water, the story and the book finished, apart from the afterword that wasn't really suitable for the rest of the littlies. Maybe Things 1 to 3, but not 4 to 6. Not that they were going to be awake for much longer anyway, they were falling asleep as their mummies and daddies held them, and Thing 6 was really out already. "The End, happily ever after."

"Come on, I was sure she wrote more than that." My son frowned, reaching to grab the book from my lap, his dark brown hair and eyes confused a little. He was so lovely, did everything he could for his dad while I had my... When I couldn't be there, same with our daughters. "There's still a load of the story left, did it not get written down?"

"There wasn't enough space in the book." Thing 1's and 6's mother replied, smirking slightly at her uncle, holding her daughter close as she played with her teddy. "You know it, don't you nana? We could put the younger ones to bed, start a camp fire and have a nice camp out tonight."

Really? I was planning on an easy and relaxing evening, I'd just been looking after 6 kids for the last two weeks while they all had a giant break. Two of my kids with us, their partners and children, my brother in law and my sister in law, their children, and then my grandchild with her two kids. That was one hell of a camp out, by what kind of a story telling Nana would I be if I didn't finish the oldest story in existence?

So, my decision was made for me, really. "Go on then. Put them to bed, and I'll tell the story."

They did as I said, putting the younger three to sleep before my daughters daughter started to put together a fire, blowing on the flames to make them grow until it was big enough to roast marshmallows on. "Go on, mum. You can tell the rest of the story." My daughter smiled, stroking her out grown up daughter's hair as she held her son, and held her husband's hand. "It's your right to, as head of the family."

"Well, I suppose, the ending of our story, it starts with a fight."

Khalilah:

"Oh, oh my God, you know what this means, don't you!?" I babbled excitedly at him as I quickly dressed, throwing on leggings and a long sleeved shirt as we got ready to go and fetch our children. He was back, my Dean, my eternal Wolf and amazing husband came back to me... "It means that we can finally fight! I mean, we trained together before, but I always had that unfair advantage of first just being a Time Lord, and then being an Archangel, but now you are as well, and we both have powers!"

I could see that he wasn't really listening, just nodding dumbly as I spoke, obviously just happy to be in my company. "And you know what, I think I'm going to skip the clothes and show up at my parents completely naked. What do you think?"

"I am actually paying attention Khalilah, and I'm down with that, but I think there are better ways to tell your parents, and the Doctor, that I'm back from the dead." He paused. "Again. How many times is this now?"

Oh.... Actually, I'd lost count. "Haven't the foggiest. We have all died countless times, remember, it's rather getting hard to keep track of them all."

At which point he grabbed me again, cupping my face softly as he pressed his lips to mine in a delicious and tender kiss. "You have spent far too long in the UK! You're so... Native!"

"At last I checked, dearest, I was native to England, but I herald from the stars, mostly at any rate." I grinned at him, feeling my phone vibrate and looked at it. "Sammy and Ria are going to meet me, well, us, there. So is Grumps."

The Doctor... "I need to talk to you about that. What does Amber mean to you?"

Amber? "It's one of my family's stones. Preservation, solid life. It's tree sap that's solidified into a precious stone. There are pieces that date back to before the dinosaurs if you know where to look for them. It's something that we all love, something we can all sort of... Channel. Why, Honey?"
