Diamond POV...

So here's the thing, I've been trying to ignore this girl who sits beside me during most of my classes. I mean she's great and warm but I ain't ready to deal with no gurl cuz I can't just bring meslf to trust a human. By the way, who would wanna be a friend to a hippo like me...truly I think Montana is just being friendly coz she feels pity for this fatty because ever since I stepped into the school, she be the only one who's been nice to me and I gotta admit, I've been rude not being friendly back but lil ma ain't ready to drop down her armour of friendship around her.

It's been three days and I've been able to survive through the hell hole called school at least...I've tried. I walked up to my locker to pick up my books since I was having my best subject, Languages and Miss Tiffany is just the ideal person for the subject. Suddenly, Montana gave me the shock of my life with her little voice.

"HEY!" She hopped beside me and gave me a toothpaste smile.
"Jeeezz... H-hi" I broke a nervous smile and stuttered seein' she wasn't the only one standing beside me but she brought her friends. Montana is pretty known by most of the students and teachers even the principal finds Montana amusing. They all love and would do anything to protect her from some envious eyes.Especially, most of the boys. I sometimes wish I was like her.
"Is anything wrong?" I swallowed hard and tried my best not to cry.

"Notin',Daya. Just wanna say I missed yo' " she rushed to me and wrapped me in a bear hug making me feel a little bit scared. Nobody wants to hug a fatty like me in public so I dunno why she just did that and her friends seemed cool with that. Strange.
"So, I wanna introduce yo' to my bestiez.... Tamina and Zendaya" she introduce and I just complied with a nervous smile.
"Guys, this is my best friend Diamond" she looked to them with a big smile.

The hell...best friend?!

Ion know if they are ready to be with an ugly person like me.
"Um...Montana, ion think you're ready to have me like a friend" I said sadly with tears blurring my vision. Their eyes grew wide with shock and surprise.
"But..." She was cut short by some similar voice ive heard before. Shivers creeped up my spine as I turned around to be sure.
"Well, well, well well. Who do we have here? Ain't it the biggest hoe ever" an evil smirk crossed her face raising a brow and screening me from the very root of my hair to the tip of my toe nails. I got scared at once knowing she was the same person.

''Seems our path has crossed once again. You haven't changed a bit. Still having those thick fat body features and as clumsy as ever BITCH!" She snapped angrily. I felt ashamed as I started getting stares.
"Are you done?" I managed to say hiding my tears and shame.
"Yeah. Just gah one thang to say. Ion wanna see yo' cross my path else, you're gon' get it from me. Got it?!" She stepped angrily towards. She was just an inch away from me. I nodded in fear looking away. She scoffed and rudely nudge my head with her finger.

"Stupid ass bitch." She bumped into me walking away. I sighed heavily letting my tears flow freely. I turned around only to see how Montana and her friends' face had turned red in anger.
"You know her?" Montana asked in disgust.
"Yes,I know Aleeyah " I nodded wiping my tears.
"That bitch is darn rude like hell!" The white gurl, Tamina scoffed in anger.

"Montana, I don't think you guys are gonna be able to put up with me. Ion wanna be your friend so I guess its better to stay away from each other. I'm sorry." I said holding back my tears walking out on them.

Walking towards my class, I started to regret all that I said to Montana and her friends but I don't wanna spoil their reputation in school.
"I'm sorry Montana" I whispered to myself before entering the class. Unfortunately for me, I was in the same class with both Aleeyah and Montana and her friends. Today is gonna be a long day. I heaved heavily as i passed by Aleeyah but she had her foot stuck out. I missed my steps and ended on the floor. The class erupted in laughter seeing me fall. Aleeyah grin and stuck out her tongue to me in triumph. I hid my tears standing up.

There I noticed Montana and her friends at doorway looking at me with pity. I saw Tamina had held Montana's clenched fist,giving Aleeyah a cold stare.
"Am sorry" I muttered quietly brushing off dirt on my faded jeans.
"I guess your eyes are becoming fat and blinding yo' path." I decided to ignore her comment and take my seat at the very back. It looked empty and lonely but I felt comfortable.

Throughout the class, I tried ignoring both Aleeyah and Montana gazes. Soon, the bell rang for a break. I quickly rushed to the cafeteria to grab my lunch avoiding any pro. I got my lunch and took my seat alone as usual. I saw Aleeyah and her squad pass by and luckily, they decided to pretend I wasn't there.

Thank Gawd!

I exhaled in relief. I had to get to my next class.... Done with my fries and soda, I grabbed my backpack and head outta the cafeteria. As I stood up, I heard a roar of laughter behind me. Naively, I turned and saw everyone looking at me and pointing. I got scared not knowing the reason then Aleeyah walked up to me with her pets.

"Oh dear, you've got ketchup all over your fat butt....how sad" she cooed teasing me. I checked and saw it was true. This time, I couldn't hold my tears this time.
"Why?" I whispered through my tears.
"Lemme just say...cuz I hate chu so damn much." She said in a serious tone making me sob the more. The crowd were still laughing and I couldn't take it anymore. I ran out heading to the washroom to obviously cry my eyes out. I banged the door and slid down with my back hugging my knees by the wall. My life can't never be right.

Shedding tears, I felt a warm hand caress my shoulder making me jolt in fear. It was Montana and her friends.
"Wha' are you guys- doin' here?" I asked sadly and hiccuped at the same time. Her eyes were sad but lovely to look into.
"I can't letchu go through this alone. I wanna be your friend" she said in a low voice but then Tamina jumped in.
"We wanna be your friends" Zendaya nodded eagerly. I scanned their faces to see any trail of lies but their eyes were sincere and honest. But why would anyone wanna be friends with an ugly fatty like me.

"Why would you wanna be friends with me? Am just gonna spoil your reputation and make you look bad cuz am..." Zendaya cut in firmly.
"You ain't ugly Diamond. Aleeyah's just jealous cuz yo'gah a lot more than her."
"Yeah. And she just trippin' cuz she ain't got flesh as beautiful and cameral as yo' "Montana added in tears.

"You're beautiful Diamond."Zendaya rubbed my cheek warmly. I totally mistook them for Aleeyah's type. I've gotta admit, they're great gurls.
"Am sorry for being rude earlier I just..."
"Its owkayyy...I understand" Montana cut in camly wiping her tears and bringing up her soothing smile. Darn! She loves smiling.

"So, are we friends?" Tamina grinned looking at me expecting a positive answer. Zendaya had the same expression but Montana gave me that look which says; don't you dare say no!. I smiled and nodded slightly and they all heaved in relief.
"You don't have to worry 'bout Aleeyah cuz you got girls who's gonna whoop her fake slutty ass when she tries some'in shitty" Tamina said through gritted teeth making the others nod fully in agreement.
I couldn't help but laugh at their reaction.
"Thanks guys and am sorry" I snifled and broke a smile. My heart felt lighter.
"Awww, come here "Montana pulled me into a hug.
"Group hug!" Tamina squeaked and they all came around having a foursome hug. It had been a very long time since I was really hugged warmly by someone. I felt I had a lil importance in life cuz I couldn't just wear off tha' smile they had fixed on my face.

Becoming friends with another to me was like takin' dusty route. I need to trust again and that's gon' be difficult cuz ion think I'm ready to trust a human but I hope this awesome girls prove me wrong. For now, imma just enjoy their company.....
