39: A Sudden Turnout

Diamond POV

I watched as his Ferrari drove outta ma neighbourhood. At least, he had lighten up this place...and my mood. I never noticed until at how my migraine had gone and I felt this relieve something.

I'd say am grateful for how he had made my day today and my daughter's coz they both seem to get along.

I wonder if he would still like Akiylah when he knows the truth.

The smile on ma face suddenly wiped off. He's gon' feel hurt and don't wanna have anything to do with a baby mama like me.

Tears begin to appear in my eyes but I quickly blinked it away enterin' the diner which was almost empty even though it was now 8pm. We sometimes close later than this buh if we gon' leave earlier then that's better so I go on finishin' up my designs and get this sleepin' beauty to bed.

As I entered, I met both Samantha and Taffy beamin' at me. I guess they gon' ask me 'bout everything that went on.

  "What?" I pretended askin' not to notice how eager they wanted gossip.
  "Nun, we just wanna know how it went you know...tips". Taffy slanted her lips and battin' her eyelashes.

  "We don't want it full detail. Just tips". Samantha said buh I knew she meant the other way.
  "Yesss, buh if you wanna give out all them details..." Taffy slurred tryna tickle me.

  "Okay fine, imma tell it all". I finally decided and they both squeaked quietly clappin'.
  "Buh if any of you try to tease me 'bout this matter..." They cut in promisin' nah to use it against me.

   "Hey!where the fuck is the salt?" Some rude nigga ordered loudly provokin' Taffy.

  "Shut the fuck up and suck it down your damn throat buh if you think you can't, get yo' lousy lowkey ass outta ma diner. You the last anyway!" Taffy hurled back at the customer.

He seem to suddenly keep quiet and eat his meal like that.

  "You crazy Taf, you know that?" She just shrugged smilin'.
  "Let's talk biz here peepz. So what da hell happened?" Sam eagerly cried out tappin' her laps.
  ''Hold your damn horses ma'am." I chuckled at how itchy they were to hear me out.

I made sure Akiylah was sleepin' comfortably on ma laps before continuin'.
  "Well, on they way, Akiylah so happened to spill it out that I could sing. So he persuaded me to sing and I sang along with his radio".

  "What song?" Sam asked.
  "Little more". I answered and they cooed like some birds.
  "Little more of your love...that's so hertwarmin' ". That was Taffy bein' dramatic.

I brushed that off.
  "He then seemed speechless and surprised I could sing. I myself was surprised I could sing in front of him. Finally, we pulled up at the park and we got ice cream then later let Akiylah play around whiles we talked".

  "What did you both talk 'bout?"
I smiled rememberin' the funny things he was talkin' 'bout.
  "You know, random things on B ball, songs, interesting' things and hell, nigga was funny. I just couldn't stop laughin' "

I began laughin' myself.

  "Later on, we got on a roller coaster." Taffy's eyes widen. She knew how I hated those things.
  "You? On a rollercoaster?"

  "Yep. Unbelievable right. It was Leslie who helped me through. I was scared and felt like dyin' buh he held my hand through it all and I survived through it enjoyin' it myself".

  "Wooow, so romantic". They both said dreamily. I just shook my head at them smilin' buh I felt the heat I had felt when he touched my hand, rush up my whole body.
