65: Epilogue

Narrator's POV

Diamond was taken to the hospital and there she got to know the secret they had all been waiting' for.

Diamond POV

"Am so glad everything's over with that damn rapist behind bars and am sure Aleeyah is on the run coz the last time I checked, she's nah been in school for weeks now." Tammy reported happily.

I for myself was more than happy. My friends and family all around me. I tried sittin' up buh I winced in pain at the back of my head wrapped up in bandage.

"Easy, easy, easy there. We don't wanna hurt you all the more." Miss Ramony said softly.
"I just can't believe he tried to force himself on you. He's such a snake." Taffy spat angrily.

I smiled at the thought that he got what he deserve and I owe it all to Leslie. Oh my hero...

"Can we come in?" My heart swell at the sight of him here with them boys and everyone. Absolutely everyone.

"Mmm, look who's here?" They all grinned as he came towards my bed with flowers.

"Hey"
"Hey..." I whispered blushin' as hell. He sat close and held my hand kissin' it.
"Am so sorry Daya, I shoulda trusted you instead of judgin'..." I hate it when he takes it all upon himself.
"No Leslie...you shouldn't..."
"I should. Am so so so sorry. I should have trusted you more honey but I was blinded...and am sorry. At this very end when I thought I was gonna loose you....I realized you mean more than I could ever imagine".

"...I love you so much and I don't wanna ever loose you again". Tears sparkled in his eyes as of mine. I was touched to the very core that I was shaken by love.

"Oh Leslie....am so sorry too for nah being able to tell' you all these while and with everything that has occurred it has made me realize...how much I love you Leslie." Saying those words from my heart made feel so happy.

Without thought, we found our lips glued in front of everyone. I have never been more happier in my life.

"YAYYYYYYYYYY😋😋😋😋!!! DIAMOND AND LESLIE SITTING ON THE TREE, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!!! YAYYYY!!!" They sang playfully. I laughed with so much joy.

My family, my daughter, my friends and my man. That's all I've ever wanted.

"Good day to y'all". The presence of mother made me jolt.
"Mother?!" I was so shocked at the sight of her most of all, her paleful look.

Her eyes looked sunken and reddish all around, she coughed in between her talks and she had grown lean. Honestly, I didn't know if I should get angry or sad at the sight of her.

"What are..."
"Wait a minute Daya, I think you should let her speak". Taffy said makin' us all confused.

"What is going' on here?" Tana asked starin' from one confused face to another.

"My mother here has got something to say." Taffy said smilin' with tears. Ma heart raced wildly. Had Frank escaped from jail? Or maybe...what is it?

Mom came closer to me and took my hands in hers with tears in her eyes.

"I...I...shoulda told you this for a very long time buh...but I was driven with hatred and envy blamin' you for what was never your fault...and deprivin' you of the happiness you deserve in...in life". I squeezed her hand as tears gathered in my eyes.

Even though I remembered all that she had done to us, I still had tears in my eyes.

"Diamond, am so sorry for nah tellin' you...for nah ...tellin' you...the truth...bout your...your...your mother". There my heart sank. She knows my mother.
