~~Diamond POV

"Hmmm...smells good Danny" I just arrived at the diner I work; the Tully's diner I've been working here since the day we moved here and although I haven't been friends with much, some do care. Danny and Freya are just like my parents who seem to be kind to me. Apparently, through their ten years of marriage, they have no child which saddens my heart but they just seem to be there for me whenever I need someone to talk to since none of the workers are not friendly to me.

Danny owns the diner but he still loves to cook in the kitchen as well as Freya who also sometimes clean around. How I wish they were always around me.
"Isn't it my beautiful Diamond. Come here girl" I happily ran into his wide open arms enjoying the fatherly hug he gave.
"How have you been? Any new trash from that snob ?" His voice went rigid speaking of my mom. He just seem to hate her.

"Oh please Danny, that snob you talkin' about is my mama. No matter what, there's none other than her" I smiled sadly knowing it was the truth as tears filmed in my eyes.
"Am so sorry but I can't just help it that she ain't respecting your efforts in life. I just don't understand it my child" he wiped my tear shaking his he'd sadly. I could see how sad he felt for me.

"I just don't know. Am not asking for much. All I want...is her love. If I would have to work all my life for her just for love... I would do it...I would do it...I just want her to love me and my daughter..." For a very long time, I wept bitterly.
"Oh Diamond..." Danny pulled me into a hug making me cry harder.
"It's okay child. We're here for you. Its okay" he whispered kissing my head. With the comfort of Danny, I stopped sobbing and I felt my heart lighter.
"You know sometimes, it's good to let it all out. You don't have to be too hard on yourself." He smiled to me reassuringly. I nodded in response.
"Thank you Danny, I don't know what I'd do without you. "
"For my dear cutie, I'd do anything to make you feel good" he playfully pinched my nose making me giggle.

"Heyy my dear Diamond. I've missed you my darling. Come on here baby" Freya called out behind me beaming with smiles on her rosy cheeks. Even though old, she still glowed in beauty. I embraced her.
"I better start work. I wanna geh home early"
"Sure dear." I changed into my uniform and wore my apron. My uniform was somehow revealing for me. It was a black leggings with a black polio shirt and a baseball cap with my black apron but I'd just have to fit my ugly body into it.

"Hey fatty, there's an order at table 6. Hurry your fat ass up" Louisiana, my coworker said pretty much irritated by my presence. Most of the workers are like that to me. Pretty rude.
"Okay Louisiana" I nodded going away to avoid anymore problem.
"She pretends to be a saint but man, what a stupid hippo she is" Charles added beside Louisiana as they both laugh. I simply just ignored them and got to work.

Right from the moment I started working today, I was left all alone to serve around. It was pretty hard for me coz I was alone. They all ganged up and left me alone.
"Come here my child, you can take a rest." Freya said with a warm smile.
"Its alright Freya,I'd just clean up"
"No young lady, you're having your break. Sit down now" she insisted firmly of which I had no choice but to obey.

We both sat down as she served fresh cakes which were my favourite. Just then, the girls entered. When I saw them I felt shy since I may ruin their reputation.
"Daya!" Montana called out excitedly waving wildly.
"Gurl, you didn't tell us you were working at the Tully's." Zendaya said taking her seat along with the girls.
"I-i thought maybe it wasn't as import..." Tamina cut in
"For real, everything 'bout you is important. Okay"
"Thanks girls. Um...I'd like you to meet Mrs Freya, my boss" I said introducing her. All of a sudden, they just seemed into each other. Freya couldn't help but enjoy their warm company. I then left to serve their favourites knowing them well.

"You know daya, you shouldn't have served us. I can't deal with it that you're serving your girls" Montana said.
"It's nothing Montana, I work here and by the way, I don't see anything wrong serving my girls food" I smiled.
"Awww..." Montana hugged me for the third time she came into the diner.
"I can see how you girls love Diamond so much especially the hugger here" Freya teased referring to Montana which made us all laugh.

"Mummy!" Suddenly, I heard my babby call out to me. I had totally forgotten about the girls when I hugged and kissed Akiylah all over.
"How was school today? I missed you baby" I hugged her tightly making her giggle hard. It was only when I heard Zendaya's voice that I remembered they were here. I guess this is the day they finally know the truth.

"Daya, what did the lil'girl mean when she called you mommy?" I could see confusion not only on zendaya's face but all of them. I dropped my daughter down and sat beside them. I swallowed hard on the heavy lump in my throat as tears welled in my eyes holding my baby tightly.
"I was meaning to tell you girls for a long time...buh I thought whah would you wanna do with me and I was afraid to loose you girls. You have been my family aside from the Tullys..." I let my tears flow freely.
"Akiylah here is my daughter... It wasn't my intention to have this angel at a very young age but unfortunately for me, I got raped by my stepdad... My mother maltreated me my whole life having some hatred for me so when I had Akiylah, it got worse... I did everything to please her buh...she didn't even want my daughter and I anywhere near her" I snifled softly before continuing with my head bowed down.

"But with the help of Taffy, I was able to pull through" she came nearer to me smiling.
"I can't thank her enough coz all my life after the death of my father, I was laughed at, disgraced and even tortured but through it all, Taffy has been there for me. So, if you really dont wanna be friends again, I would blame coz..." Tamina cut in tearily.
"Stop it daya...there's no way we gonna leave you be...you've suffered enough torture already and now I know why you sometimes feel out of place and have all those brusies..." Tears ran down her cheeks.
"I can never imagine the pain you went through but this I promise, we would never leave you nor would we ever feel ashamed walking with you coz it wasn't your fault. I just hope one day, your mother regrets all her actions" Zendaya said angrily even though her tears spilled.

"Why don't you report her?" Montana asked crying.
I chuckled sadly." Why would I? Because she's my mother and I love her. She was the one who raised me up and I would never forgive myself to see her behind bars" that was the truth. By now, all the girls were crying as they all pulled me into a hug.
"We are never gonna leave coz.. We love you so much"
"And I love you guys more" we all wept bitterly even Freya and Taffy but Akiylah knew nothing she just kept asking why I was crying.

By the time we had all stop crying, our eyes were even red
than a hot coal.
"Its a good thing people ain't here anymore" Montana said wiping her eyes as I turned around and it was true. It was barely filled with customers.

"Come here Akiylah, I am Aunty Tamina buh you can call Mina, alright?" She nodded in response. The girls all had a share of my baby happily and I saw how happy they were when they held Akiylah. I wasn't expecting this behaviour but seeing then now, they are one real good friends and I'd never do anything to ruin that friendship. I would love them coz they shown how much love they have for me and my daughter.

So now, the secret has been told but would others also accept it like the girls?
