21: The Meet Up

Diamond POV

I stood up pretty late last night checkin' up on some designs in Taffy's magazines since pretty soon we gon' be workin' on some design projects. Most of all, I was thinkin' if I can trust mama. Ion know if I made the right decision stayin' back buh I felt pity for her. I felt kinda pity seeing her in such a bad state and I gotta admit, she's ma mom. I guess everyone deserves a chance to make things up. The moment my eyes flashed open, I checked the time and it was 8am.
"Darn it! Am freakin' late for work!" I quickly peel the blanket off my body and brushed my teeth as I buy time to warm up my water.

My body and eye still hurt buh nah that bad... I guess. I hurried takin' a shower, did my hygiene and got dressed right away in my uniform. I know Danny won't mind me bein' late buh ion think I should take advance of that in relaxin' at work. As I was tying up my hair in a ponytail, my phone buzzed. It was the girls blowin' up my phone. I smiled takin' my phone checkin' out them messages.

TANA: Darn it girl! Been callin' up yo' ass like forever! Where were yo' at?
TAMINA:Imma beat up yo' ass if I get hold of you.
ZENDAYA:Hi Daya...
ME:Sorry girls. Slept pretty late last night. Just woke up. Sorry.
TANA:Alright! We just wanna holla you up tellin' yo we'd be meetin' up at your place.
ME:Awww, that's gonna be sweet. iight, I'd wait up for you girls.
TAMINA:Plzzz, make up something delicious coz boy, ma stomach is sure killin' me right now.
ZENDAYA:Hell girl, ain'tchu at home?
TAMINA: Nope
TANA:Where you at?
TAMINA:I'll spill it when we meet up buh right now just passing down a message of life and death. Lolx.
ME:iight. Breakfast is on me. My treat and no rejection.
TANA:Okay, fine. See ya xxx.
TAMINA:Am definitely down with that girl. Tnkz. Am owt.
ZENDAYA: Its your call baby girl. ;-*

I closed up our chat and dug ma phone in pocket, I grabbed my bag and got downstairs. At that same time, Taffy and Akiylah got out of their room.
"Good mornin' big sis...hmmm, can you smell that?" Taffy asked inhaling hard. I smelled the atmosphere and it smelled great.
"Wow! Who could that be?" I asked both surprised and shock. Taffy shrugged hoppin' down the stairs as I trailed behind her with Akiylah. Taffy took a sharp halt immediately with confusion on her face.
"Good mornin' girls. Breakfast is ready and your favourite". Mama announced happily.
"Uh wait a minute, am I in the right house? I need to be sure coz things are sure unusual". Taffy said.

I nudged her. I was a bit confused buh hell happy! Mama cooked breakfast and our favourite. I can't believe this.
"Mama...you shouldn't have". I went over the cabinet and I was blown away. It was pancakes with honey, sandwich, fruit juice and cereals. Our favourites.
"Come on baby, it is my duty. I wanna make up for everything. I know this isn't enough buh its a start. I..." Tears shown in her eyes.
"Its okay mama. Am nah askin' of anything from you coz so long as I have you here with me, am happy." I just couldn't contain my happiness. I hugged her tightly.
"Oh my baby. Come here my little angel". She called out to Akiylah who ran happily.
"Grandma!" I just couldn't missin' some few tears of joy.
"Okay, can y'all quit the drama and let's eat". Taffy cut in with attitude. I and mother exchanged smilin' looks before takin' our seat. I served buh couldn't join in coz I was dead late.

"Hey, why are you smellin' the food? That's bad". I said to Taffy.
"I'm checkin' up for any poision. Ion think someone like her can change in a blink of an eye dear." I felt hurt buh I pretty much understand her. Taffy was a pretty hard person when it comes to trust and love. She's very hard to convince.
"Taffy, you've gotta stop talkin' to mother like that. Mama's here tryna' to get back up..." She cut in.
"Alright, fine I get the picture already. She's back and I gotta give her a chance to be a mother." She rolled her eyes sayin'.

"Leave her be Diamond, I guess she's just pretty new to me bein' nice. I think you should get goin' else you gon' be late. I've already packed up something for you" she said smiling. I surprisingly took hold of the large sandwich wrap.
"Thanks mom". I whispered kissing her cheek.
"Wait up Daya, imma roll out with yo' " Taffy said. We all gave her a goodbye kiss and then hit the restaurant with Akiylah.
"Would you quit smilin'. You gon' see its all an act. Some goddamn act!" Taffy blurted out as we got in the cab.
"Ohhh Taffy, you gon' see it wasn't all an act. Am so glad that mama is back". I squeaked happily huggin' Taffy tight.
"Daya, am gonna feel bad if you get hurt again. Buh if you do, me myself, imma throw you out maself". I laughed huggin' her more.
