40: Least Expected.

Diamond POV

We had managed to walk through the heavy rain reaching the bus station buh we were stranded. The rain had become heavier, so I had removed my jacket to cover up Akiylah but it did no good.

We were drenched and cold to the bones. Akiylah laid under my jacket in Taffy's arms shakin' like some leaf and I could clearly see how Taffy's teeth chattered.

We were cold.

No bus or cab not even a vehicle passed by as we stood by the road under the rain. It was all rain, rain and rain.

I had felt boosted with Taffy and Sam's words buh now look at my life. I just found out I ain't got no family. Am an orphan. Am homeless. Am wasted.

How bad can my life get anymore?!

I hugged Taffy hearin' her cry softly. I cried too. Where are gon' go? How are we gon' survive? Is this how imma end?

All this questions jumbled in my head as I buried my chin in Taffy's hair c ryin' hard. My chest was all tightened and I could feel my blood boil at the thought of everything.

I just felt this sudden urge to match back into the house and...and...just end Trisha's life for lettin' me go through all this.

If she knew all this while, why didn't she say anything?
The urge grew stronger and stronger buh I inhaled deeply huggin' Taffy and Akiylah tighter.

Its gon' be really bad with Akiylah endurin' the fact that her mama is a murderer. Imagine the look on ma friends, Taffy, Sam...it only would mess up my life.

Killin' right now is the last thing I should be thinkin' 'bout.

PEEEP! PEEEP! PEEEP!

Suddenly, the honkin' of an ash flashy Range Rover sport drew me outta ma miserable thoughts.

Taffy and I both stared in surprise as the car drew closer and the driver's window slowly slide down. I was speechless.

It was Miss Ramony Clark.

She quickly got down and jogged up to us. She got soaked the moment she stepped outta her car buh she didn't seem to care 'bout her expensive clothes and jewelries gettin' all into ruin.

"What the hell are y'all doin' out in this blast rain?" She spoke louder takin' paled Akiylah into her arms.

I just stared not knowin' where to begin.

Just then, the rain gave out a startlin' thunder rumble warnin' more are yet to come.
"Jeez...c'mon. Let's go". She got hold of Taffy's hand leadin' her to her car.

My legs had gone stiff and limb like a fish bone. It was with great force that I was able to move. We all into the car chatterin' and shakin' hard.

"Lemme warm y'all up." Miss Ramony said turnin' on her AC to a warm mode which quickly heated up the car.

"Thanks". My voice was all shaky as I spoke and Miss Ramony gave me sympathetic look. I manage to glimpse the sparkle of tears in her hazel eyes.

Or am I mistaken???

The hell who wouldn't cry at the sight of us. We were miserable like some lost lamb.

Taffy drew up closer to me restin' her head on my shoulder as I wrapped my arms around her at the back seat. Akiylah was wrapped up in Miss Ramony's arms as she managed to drive.
