17: The Moment Of Truth

Diamond POV

  "Uh-uh... Leslie, I wanna thank you for savin'..."
  "Aargh! You've thanked for almost tons of times I seem to have lost count"
  "But..." He cut in again
  "Nothin' baby girl. I would have done it for anybody and so would you. Now, I don't wanna hear any sort of thanks from yo'... iight?" I managed to nod nervously.
  "Come on baby!" I heard Aleeyah call out to him. I better beat it before she thinks other wise.
  "I gotta go. See you later". I saw him sigh in frustration as if Aleeyah was some... No Diamond, its none of your biz so I better put that thought outta ma head.

Two days is what is left before I go back home. I can't just wait to cuddle my baby and I badly miss my lil' big sis. The thought of those two made me chuckle.
  "Hey, what's got yo' all giggling? Is it some boyyy?" Tamina nudged me playfully wiggling her brows.
  "Come on Tammy, I just remembered Taffy and Akiylah" I replied smiling.
  "Awww, I miss them to especially my cutie". Montana joined.

  "Hello dreamer, when is it gonna stick in that skull of yours that Akiylah is my baby?" Montana cut in hard. I know they just love to fight over her. They just funny... But straight up the best friends ever.
  "Fightin' 'bout Akiylah again?" Leslie just interrupted out of nowhere making us all white as snow.
   "Uh... Hey Leslie! Wadup bruh?..." Montana tried distracting and it worked. WHEW!
  "Nothin'. Just wanna hang out with ma girls" he said smiling at me but I quickly averted my gaze.

Jody had allowed us all to be left free. Most of us were around the cabins ad the large campground  and others were exploring... If only they were. We served chocolate mousse around. The girls and I with Leslie were chatting heartily nah until Wade came and Tamina turned hard.
  "Ummm... Tamina, I wanna just say am really sorry for actin' like some bad ass nigga" he apologized but Tamina doesn't seem interested coz she pretended to be busy with something.
  "Yo fellas, am I interrupting some'in? I just wanna lend Tamina". Kendrick came in and Wade's jaw turned rigid and his fist.

  "Ken, I wasn't expectin' yo. What's up?" Tamina melted like some ice when she saw Ken.
  "I actually thought maybe you'd like to walk around. Is that cool with you?" Just when Tamina wanted to reply, Wade cut in.
 
"Am sorry nigga coz she's busy with her friends..."
  "Cut it out Wade ! He is my friend and am goin' with him coz ion see any profit your sorry ass is givin' me". She took off with Ken.
 
"Don't worry Wade. You know how Tamina can be sometimes. I bet she didn't mean any off that trash she said". Montana consoled.
  "Least we here for you Wade" I said givin' him a lil' pat on his.
  "Better we drop that painful subject... I wanna ask some' in Daya. Did you really you fell on your own into the lake?"

He asked suddenly making goosebumps appear on my body remembering ma ordeal.

  "Why do you say that?" Montana asked
  "I mean, I find it kinda strange how nobody could help you when you fell? It doesn't make sense". He explained then I remembered something. I remember whiles drowin' , one of the boys smirked at me and stood with Aleeyah both nah seeming to help. Could she have planned it all with the boys and could Beautiful be part of all this?...
  "Daya!" I heard Montana called out breaking me outta ma trace.
  "What's gotten all tangled in your head?" She asked. I looked from her to Leslie who was starin' at me with worry in his eyes. I wanted to say what I was confused about but what Leslie said changed my mind.

  "You know, if someone truly pushed yo', I swear imma beat the shit outta that bloody sucker and that goddamn person better pray coz that sucker is in deep shit" I could see anger circlin' his eyes. It made me scared thinkin' if he knew someway Aleeyah was part of all o' this.

Man, ion wanna be an object of destruction of relationship. Its better I keep it to myself.
  "You sure baby girl you don't feel someone pushed you" he asked staring hard.
  "No, maybe I tripped." I don't know buh I feel kinda bad telling lies to Leslie.
